Job summary

Movate Technologies in Bengaluru is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to develop data-driven solutions for complex business problems using statistics, ML and deep learning.

You will work with Python and SQL, build and evaluate models, perform data preprocessing, feature engineering, and collaborate with Data Engineering, Analytics, Product and business teams to deliver scalable solutions. GenAI exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in data science, ML, analytics or related areas.
• Strong hands-on programming experience in Python.
• Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis.
• Solid foundation in Statistics and Probability, including modeling, hypothesis testing, regression and experimentation.
• Experience with ML, statistics, predictive modelling, data mining, NLP, DL, CV, forecasting.
• Experience with Python libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow and/or PyTorch.
• Ability to translate business problems into analytical solutions and to communicate findings effectively.

Responsibilities

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Data Scientist with a strong foundation in Statistics, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning to develop data-driven solutions for complex business problems.

The ideal candidate should have hands‑on experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating statistical and machine learning models, along with strong programming skills in Python and SQL. The role requires strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving capabilities, with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable, data‑driven solutions. Candidates should also have a solid understanding of mathematical and statistical modeling techniques and demonstrated experience applying these methods to solve real‑world business problems.Exposure to Generative AI (GenAI) is preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Work with large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable business insights.
• Design, develop, and validate statistical, machine learning, and deep learning models.
• Perform exploratory data analysis, data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation.
• Apply statistical techniques to solve business problems and support data‑driven decision‑making.
• Develop predictive and prescriptive models for use cases such as classification, regression, forecasting, segmentation, and optimization.
• Build solutions using Python and SQL for data analysis and model development.
• Evaluate and optimize model performance using appropriate statistical and ML techniques.
• Work with structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering, Analytics, Product, and business teams to develop scalable solutions.
• Present analytical findings, model outcomes, and recommendations to technical and business stakeholders.
• Document methodologies, assumptions, model performance, and technical approaches.
• Keep up to date with developments in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and GenAI.

Mandatory Skills

• 7+ years of relevant experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, Advanced Analytics, or related areas.
• Strong hands‑on programming experience in Python.
• Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis.
• Strong foundation in Statistics and Probability, including statistical modeling, hypothesis testing, regression, and experimentation.
• Strong hands‑on experience in Machine Learning, -Statistics, Predictive Modelling, Data Mining, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing , Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Series/Forecasting techniques
• Good hands‑on experience in Deep Learning and neural network‑based approaches.
• Experience with Python libraries/frameworks such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit‑learn, TensorFlow and/or PyTorch.
• Strong understanding of data preprocessing, feature engineering, model selection, validation, and performance evaluation.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to translate business problems into analytical/Data Science solutions.
• Good communication and stakeholder‑management skills.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), or NLP is an added advantage.
• Understanding model deployment, MLOps, and productionizing ML models would be advantageous.
• Experience working in consulting, analytics services, or client‑facing environments is preferred.
