Job summary

MetLife in India seeks a senior Data Scientist to lead production-grade ML and rule-based models across structured and unstructured data. The role is an individual contributor with mentorship responsibilities, solving wide-ranging business problems and driving model quality, governance and AI explainability.

8-10+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or equivalent are required. Collaboration with Business, Technology and D&A teams is essential.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or equivalent educational qualification.
• 8-10+ years of relevant experience in data science/ analytics.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, validate and deploy production grade rule-based & machine learning models using structured and unstructured data.
• Perform exploratory data analysis, feature engineering.
• Monitor, evaluate and improve model performance.
• Ensure model development follows quality, security, compliance, explainability and responsible use of AI guidelines.
• Collaborate with partners from Business, Technology, Operations and D&A capabilities (Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Modeling, Data Architecture, Data science, DevOps, BI & insights).
• Mentor Data Scientists.
• Independently lead design, solutioning & estimations.
