Job summary

Ascendion Engineering is seeking an experienced Senior Data Modeler to support data modernization and cloud migration. You will design conceptual, logical, and physical data models and define future-state models for AWS-based platforms.

You will assess legacy data architecture, develop Star and Snowflake schemas, and collaborate with ETL/ELT teams to migrate and transform data with strong governance and metadata practices.

Qualifications

9 to 12+ years of Data Modeling / Data Architecture experience.
Strong Data Vault experience.
Strong SQL and relational database design skills.
Experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, DynamoDB/DB2 or similar databases.
Hands-on experience with AWS data platforms and cloud modernization.
Experience with ERwin, ER/Studio, PowerDesigner, or similar modeling tools.
Strong knowledge of data migration, source-to-target mapping, metadata, data lineage, and governance.
Experience with API/integration data modeling.

Responsibilities

Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models for enterprise applications and analytics platforms.
Perform current-state data architecture assessments and support legacy modernization.
Hands-on experience with Data Vault modeling.
Develop Star and Snowflake schemas for reporting and analytics.
Create source-to-target mappings, data dictionaries, metadata, and data lineage documentation.
Design data models for AWS Data Lake/Data Warehouse environments.
Work with ETL/ELT teams on data migration, integration, and transformation.
