Overview
Senior Data Engineer to build and operate enterprise-grade data platforms using Snowflake and cloud-native services across AWS and Azure. This role is focused on hands-on delivery of governed, layered data pipelines supporting analytics and business use cases.
The engineer will work on structured data lifecycle patterns such as RAW, STG, OPS, and MART, implementing rule-based transformations, validations, and reusable data assets aligned with Data Fabric principles.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain Snowflake-centric data pipelines across cloud environments
- Design, build, and maintain Airflow DAGs to orchestrate data pipelines across ingestion, transformation, and publishing layers.
- Implement layered data models following RAW, STG, OPS, and MART patterns
- Develop rule-based transformations, validations, and enrichment logic using SQL and Python
- Design reusable and metadata-aware pipelines aligned with Data Fabric concepts
- Ingest and process data from multiple structured and semi-structured sources
- Work with cloud storage and processing services across AWS and Azure
- Ensure data quality, lineage, access control, and audit readiness
- Support analytics and reporting use cases with well-modeled data marts
- Troubleshoot pipeline failures, performance issues, and data inconsistencies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business rules into data logic
Must Have Skills
- 4–6 years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer
- Strong experience with Snowflake, including transformations and performance tuning
- Advanced SQL and solid Python experience for data processing
- Experience implementing layered data architectures (RAW, STG, OPS, MART or similar)
- Strong understanding of data warehousing and ELT concepts
- Hands-on experience authoring and operating Airflow DAGs for production data pipelines
- Experience working in cloud environments (AWS and/or Azure)
- Ability to implement business rules, validations, and data quality checks
- Strong problem-solving skills and production support experience
Good-to-Have Skills
- Experience with Azure data services (ADLS, ADF, Synapse, Fabric, etc.)
- Exposure to Data Fabric or metadata-driven data platform concepts
- Experience with data governance, lineage, or catalog tools
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices for data pipelines
- Experience working in enterprise or regulated environments
