IQ-EQ is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join as Engineering Manager, driving the design, build, and maintenance of the IQEQ Data Platform. You will lead production‑grade data pipelines and data models, collaborating with developers, analysts, data scientists, and architects to deliver scalable data solutions.

The role emphasizes hands‑on leadership, architectural oversight, and data engineering excellence across multiple teams and products in a fast‑paced global organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; 7–10 years of software engineering experience, with hands‑on data engineering and analytics in complex environments.
• Strong Linux and Bash skills; programming in Python, Go, Scala, C++, or Kotlin; expertise in data libraries (Pandas, NumPy, PySpark, Dask).
• Experience with databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL, SQL Server), cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), data lakes/warehouses (Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift), stream processing (Kafka, Kinesis).

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery and evolution of the IQEQ Data Platform to maximize business value and growth.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Data Engineer to join our global team in an Engineering Manager role, playing a key part in delivering our Group Data Strategy and Data Transformation journey. This hands‑on technical position focuses on designing, building, optimizing, and maintaining our IQEQ Data Platform, ensuring scalable and reliable data solutions that drive business value, innovation, and growth. Working closely with software developers, data analysts, data scientists, and architects, you will lead the development of robust data pipelines and production‑ready data models, enabling high-quality data delivery across multiple teams, systems, and products while championing best practices in data engineering and platform excellence.

What You’ll Do

• You’ll play a critical role in delivering the Group Data Strategy and Data Transformation journey by leading the delivery, enhancement, and ongoing maintenance of the IQEQ Data Platform to maximise business value and growth.
• You’ll operate as a deeply technical, hands‑on Engineering Manager, directly building, expanding, optimising, and troubleshooting complex, production‑ready data pipeline architectures.
• You’ll apply extensive, current data engineering expertise to construct, refine, and manage large‑scale data infrastructures, demonstrating a proven ability to work directly with complex data assets.
• You’ll actively support software developers, database architects, data analysts, and data scientists by implementing data initiatives end‑to‑end, ensuring consistent and optimal data delivery across projects.
• You’ll work autonomously across multiple teams, systems, and products, ensuring scalable, reliable data architectures while confidently balancing hands‑on delivery with cross‑team technical leadership.

About you

• You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, with 7–10 years of software engineering experience, including strong hands‑on expertise in data engineering and analytics within complex environments (financial services preferred).
• You bring deep technical capability across Linux and Bash, programming languages such as Python, Go, Scala, C++, or Kotlin, advanced Python libraries (Pandas, NumPy, PySpark, Dask), and a strong foundation in algorithms and data structures.
• You have proven experience with databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), data lakes and warehouses (Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift), stream processing (Kafka, Kinesis), and the implementation of data warehousing and API solutions.
• You communicate effectively by adapting your style to diverse audiences, act decisively with an action‑oriented mindset, collaborate smoothly across cultures and geographies, and demonstrate strong analytical, problem‑solving, and diagnostic skills with keen attention to detail.
• You operate confidently in fast‑paced global organisations, lead and mentor teams, work with integrity and drive, possess strong stakeholder communication skills, and bring exposure to ISO 27001 information security compliance; fluency in English is required, with additional European languages considered an asset.
