Job summary

UNAVAILABLE is seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer in Bengaluru to lead data initiatives, scale data platforms, and govern data governance practices. You will mentor a growing team, partner with product and engineering, and drive data-driven decision-making across the organization.

The role emphasizes building robust pipelines, managing cloud data warehouses, and implementing governance, quality, and monitoring frameworks to enable reliable insights for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or related roles, with at least 2+ years in a leadership capacity.
• Strong expertise in SQL, Python, and modern data frameworks (e.g., PySpark, dbt).
• Hands-on experience with cloud data warehouses (Databricks, BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift) and orchestration tools (Airflow, Databricks, Prefect).
• Proven ability to design and manage data architecture at scale (batch + streaming).
• Deep understanding of data governance, compliance (GDPR/CCPA), and security practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working in fast-paced environments, ideally in SaaS, adtech, or consumer data platforms.

Responsibilities

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineerto spearhead our data initiatives, manage a growing data team, and establish best practices across data engineering, analytics, and governance. The ideal candidate has a strong background in building and scaling data platforms, leading cross-functional initiatives, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.

As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for defining our data strategy, overseeing the design and execution of robust pipelines, ensuring data quality and governance, and partnering with stakeholders across product, engineering, and business teams.

Responsibilities
