Job summary

Augrade Inc in Bengaluru is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to own the quality-control layer above our data annotation efforts for BIM/CAD data. You will lead hands-on data operations and collaborate with AI model training to ensure accurate, production-ready data.

In this role you will review outputs from junior annotators, perform AutoCAD annotation as needed, mentor the data annotators, and shape data workflows in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment.

Qualifications

• 7-12 years of experience in data engineering or BIM/CAD data operations.
• Experience with Point Cloud Annotation and 3D data labeling.
• Strong AutoCAD proficiency as a core requirement.
• MEP knowledge and BIM/construction industry background.
• Some leadership or project management experience leading a process or team.

The Role

We're hiring a Senior Data Engineer to own the quality control layer above our data annotation team. You'll sit at the intersection of data operations and AI model training - ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the structured data that powers Augrade's AI systems. This is a hands-on leadership role with direct impact on model performance.

What You'll Do

• Own the file submission and QC process for annotated construction data (CAD, BIM, MEP)
• Review and validate outputs from junior annotators; enforce quality standards
• Perform AutoCAD annotation and data labeling as needed (hands-on, not just oversight)
• Collaborate with the CV/ML engineering team to close the gap between AI outputs (currently 80-90% accuracy) and production-ready data
• Manage and mentor a team of data annotators; drive process improvements
• Coordinate with engineering leads before any major workflow or tooling decisions

What We're Looking For

Required

• 7-12 years of experience in data engineering, BIM/CAD data operations, or a related field
• Experience with Point Cloud Annotation and 3D data labeling
• Strong AutoCAD proficiency - this is the primary technical requirement
• MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) knowledge
• BIM and construction industry background
• Some leadership or project management experience - you've owned a process or team before

Preferred

• Experience at companies like AECOM, Bentley Systems, Jacobs, or WSP
• Familiarity with AI/ML data pipelines and human-in-the-loop validation workflows
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, early-stage environment
