Morningstar India Private Ltd. in Mumbai is seeking a (Senior) Data Consultant / Data Relationship Manager to champion Morningstar data capabilities in India.

You will represent Morningstar’s data capabilities to clients and industry groups and return the voice of the local market back to the global and central teams. You will manage relationships with Indian fund companies, be the data expert on investment data, promote data locally, and collaborate with sales, product, support and global data

Formación

• Minimum of 5–7 years of external relationship experience with asset managers, regulators, and data providers.
• Strong understanding of Indian investment management industry and investment data.
• Expertise in Morningstar managed investment data, methodology, processes and quality.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication.
• Bachelor’s degree required in finance, economics, or equivalent.
• Experience with PMS, AIF, and relationship management preferred.

• Bring back voice of client for data or process enhancement.
• Monitor competitor behavior, trends and services in order that Morningstar are well placed to act on any opportunities that may arise.
• Monitor local asset management industry trends, regulatory movements, and transform them into implications to Morningstar data business.

The Role:

Morningstar Managed Investment Data Team seeks a ( Senior) Data Consultant / Data Relationship Manager to champion Morningstar data capabilities in India. The employee will represent Morningstar’s data capabilities to clients and industry groups and return the voice of the local market back to the global and central teams. In this role you are responsible for identifying new data opportunities and will collaborate with teams across the company to define and execute upon Morningstar’s unique value proposition in response to industry trends.

The (Senior) Data Consultant / Data Relationship Manager plays a significant role in ensuring that Morningstar’s offering in the managed investments space exceeds industry expectations. The managed investments space includes, but is not limited to, Managed Funds, Insurance funds, ETF’s, Separate Accounts, Models, and other emerging investment vehicles and marketplaces. All data sets including returns, portfolio and ESG data are within the scope of this role. The position will be based in Mumbai, India, and report to the Data Director, Managed Investment Data - Asia Pacific.

Responsibilities

• Manage relationships with Indian fund companies and third-party administrators. Visit fund companies and providers to set up acquisition channels as well as acting as a point of escalation when such channels are failing.
• Data expert on investment data points, processes, methodologies, calculations & different fund structures.
• Promote Morningstar data at a local level to internal & external clients. Produce materials to assist retaining & obtaining business.
• Partner with sales, product & support teams on the prospect discovery process & lead generation and serve as the subject matter expert to address data inquiries.
• Collaborate with members of the Global Data teams to align priorities based upon local business requirements.

Requirements

• Candidates should have a strong interest in the investment world, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication skills. More details as follows.
• A minimum of 5-7 years of experience , with demonstrated ability to foster successful external relationships with asset managers, regulator, and third-party data providers.
• Solid understanding of the Indian investment management industry and passionate about investment data.
• Expertise in Morningstar managed investment data, methodology, processes and quality.
• Ability to demonstrate client centric approach.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong learning ability; interested to learn the complex structure of numerous investment vehicles.
• Self-motivated, independent, strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• A bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or equivalent is required.
• Excellent capabilities with MS office and Advance Microsoft Excel is required.
• Previous experience in Portfolio Management Services (PMS), Alternative Investment Funds (AIF) and relationship management role is highly preferred.
• Prior experience in Morningstar products and services is a plus.
