Job summary

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer / Data Architect with 14–19 years of experience and strong expertise in GCP and Scala. The candidate will be responsible for designing scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions and providing technical leadership across enterprise data engineering initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect scalable, reliable, and high-performance data engineering solutions on GCP.
• Lead the development and implementation of enterprise-grade data platforms and pipelines.
• Develop and optimize large-scale data processing solutions using Scala.
• Work extensively with Google Cloud Platform services to build modern data solutions.
• Define data architecture, data flow, integration patterns, and technical standards.
• Design robust ETL/ELT pipelines and data processing frameworks.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, data scientists, analysts, and engineering teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Conduct technical evaluations and recommend appropriate GCP services and data technologies.
• Ensure solutions meet requirements related to performance, scalability, security, reliability, and cost optimization.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to data engineering teams.
• Review architecture and code to ensure adherence to engineering best practices.
• Identify and resolve complex technical and performance challenges.
• Drive modernization and migration of legacy data platforms to cloud-based architectures.
• Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, and technology roadmaps.

Required Skills

• 14–19 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Architecture, or related technology roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with GCP / Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong programming experience in Scala.
• Strong understanding of Data Engineering and Data Architecture principles.
• Expertise in designing and implementing scalable data pipelines and distributed data processing solutions.
• Strong knowledge of ETL/ELT, data integration, data modelling, and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience working with large-scale data processing and cloud-based data platforms.
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture, scalability, security, and performance optimization.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Proven experience providing technical leadership at an Architect/Senior Architect level.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with GCP data services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, and Composer.
• Experience with Apache Spark and distributed data processing.
• Knowledge of data lake, data warehouse, and modern cloud data architecture patterns.
• Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, and cloud security practices.
• Experience in cloud migration and modernization projects.
