Job summary

Chevron ENGINE in Bengaluru seeks a Civil/Structural/Marine Engineer with 10+ years of experience to lead structural design support for Chevron’s refining and LNG assets. You will oversee civil/structural modifications, ensure compliance with codes, and guide Brownfield projects from conception through design.

Responsibilities include delivering discipline deliverables, performing calculations, supporting MOC reviews, and coordinating with EPC teams to ensure high-quality outcomes and asset

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in structural and civil design and analysis, including brownfields projects.
  • Proficient in civil/structural design for onshore/offshore facilities with codes and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure civil/structural designs meet specifications and applicable codes/standards.
  • Provide design engineering support for Brownfield projects and input to design studies.
  • Develop and approve discipline deliverables.
  • Develop and check calculations/analyses.
  • Support Management of Change (MOC) reviews.
  • Prepare/review RFP/RFQ inputs and technical bid packages.
  • Perform peer-reviews and cold eye reviews of deliverables.
  • Perform Design Assurance for EPC contractor scopes.
  • Conduct asset integrity analyses and review inspection/reliability reports.
  • Collaborate with Lead discipline engineer and other disciplines to ensure design quality.

Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, supporting business requirements across the world. Accordingly, the work hours for employees will be aligned to support business requirements. The standard work week will be Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1.30pm to 10.30pm.

About the position

The Civil/Structural/Marine Engineer (CSME) is a member of Chevron’s ENGINE Project & Design Engineering team providing civil/structural designs support to Chevron's Refining and Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) assets. This role is responsible for providing technical oversight of the structural/civil design modifications for Chevrons complex process facilities and for completing engineering design for projects <$3M. The CSME Designs Engineering team provides technical support for operations and projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure that civil/structural designs for onshore/offshore facilities, including marine facilities, meet specifications and applicable Codes/Standards
  • Provide design engineering support for Brownfield Engineering related Projects, as well as providing input and conducting design studies in Opportunity Development
  • Development and approval of a wide variety of discipline deliverables
  • Development and checking of calculations / analyses
  • Support functional review of Management of Change (MOCs) requests
  • Development of/input to Request for Proposal/Request for Quotation and review of technical bid packages
  • Perform peer-reviews and participate in cold eye reviews for deliverables produced by fellow CSME engineers.
  • Perform Design Assurance for scopes supported by EPC contractors.
  • Perform asset integrity analysis and support in reviewing Inspection and Integrity reports
  • Work closely with the Lead discipline engineer and interface with other disciplines to ensure design quality and successful outcomes, including interfacing with discipline Subject Matter Experts and/or Technical Authorities to address complex issues or specification compliance queries.
Required Qualifications
  • Must have an Engineering degree in Civil or Structural engineering (B.E./B.Tech.) from a deemed/recognized (AICTE)an appropriate certified university
  • 10+ years extensive experience in structural and civil engineering design and analysis (including brownfields projects)
  • Proficient user of STAAD structural engineering analysis software
  • Prior experience supporting brownfield projects within an operating environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in complex process facilities including Refining and/or LNG processing facilities
  • Experience with Concept, Front End, Detailed engineering and design requirements within an operating facility.
