Job description

Role
  • Coordinate client projects with associated factories across South and Southeast Asia, with a primary focus on India and Bangladesh, targeting opportunities in energy efficiency, renewable energy, electrification, and other decarbonization measures.
  • Work closely with supplier leadership and technical teams to secure proposal approvals, understand facility-level sentiment, and design engagement approaches that help achieve project goals.
  • Liaise with OEMs and technology providers to assess the feasibility of industrial decarbonization initiatives.
  • Keep local and global client representatives informed about project progress, risks, and mitigation plans.
  • Manage collaboration with subcontractors carrying out on-site work in textile and apparel manufacturing facilities.
  • Develop executive-ready materials in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel to support decisions on decarbonization strategies.
  • Present project findings and recommendations to clients in a clear, persuasive manner.
  • Coordinate with banking and financing partners to help suppliers access funding for project implementation.
  • Oversee factory-level implementation to ensure projects are completed on time, meet quality standards, and deliver intended results.
  • Prepare documentation that accurately captures emissions reductions and performance improvements.
  • Identify emissions reduction opportunities across supply chains in textiles, apparel, footwear, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals.
  • Apply energy management or auditing experience to factory visits and the identification of efficiency opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in India, Europe, North America, and the Middle East to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Coordinate the work of up to five consultants involved in research and data analysis.
  • Review and quality-check deliverables prepared by technical experts.
  • Manage individual workstreams within larger, more complex engagements, with progression toward full project management responsibility.
  • Build and strengthen networks with machinery suppliers and vendors in India, Bangladesh, and other Southeast Asian countries such as Vietnam and Indonesia.
  • Capture lessons from supplier engagement and project delivery to support continuous program improvement.
What You Will Need
  • At least 5 years of experience in industrial decarbonization, energy management, or consulting, preferably in the textile, footwear, or apparel industries.
  • Master’s degree in engineering, environmental science, physics, economics, mathematics, or a related field; training in climate change or sustainability is an added advantage.
  • Background in energy management or auditing, including factory visits and identification of efficiency measures, along with a basic understanding of industrial facility design and operations.
  • Familiarity with global textile supply chains, including production clusters, material flows, and key actors such as suppliers, brands, and solution providers.
  • Ability to assess water, energy, and chemical consumption in textile operations and recommend reduction opportunities through process optimization or advanced technologies.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and external partners, especially in Southeast Asia.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, teamwork, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle and interpret large datasets effectively.
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to communicate with both factory-level teams and executive stakeholders.
  • Proven skill in converting technical findings into practical business recommendations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across different teams and regions.
  • Fluency in English is required.
Nice to Have
  • PMP certification.
  • Strong network of machinery suppliers and vendors in Southeast Asia, with existing relationships with textile brands, factories, or equipment providers being a plus.
  • Experience with textile production processes such as spinning, weaving, knitting, dyeing, printing, finishing, cutting, or sewing.
  • Knowledge of textile fibers and materials, including both conventional options like cotton and polyester and more sustainable alternatives.
  • Proficiency in Southeast Asian languages.
  • Additional training in climate change and sustainability topics.
  • Relevant extracurricular achievements or international exposure aligned with the role.
