Job summary

EY in Mumbai seeks Actuaries for the General Insurance Global Market - Business Consulting Risk Actuarial team. You will work on reserving, pricing, IFRS reporting, solvency, and regulatory requirements across Indian and international clients, using strong Excel modelling and data analysis.

The role involves building client-ready models, performing solvency assessments, producing reports and presentations, and contributing to knowledge sharing and winning new engagements.

Qualifications

• 6 months+ experience in General Insurance (Actuarial domain) with 4 actuarial exams cleared.
• Ability to balance priorities and meet deadlines with quality.
• Strong communication and ability to present complex topics clearly.

Key Responsibilities

• The incumbent will be responsible for executing projects in the actuarial space.
• We are looking for Actuaries with varying experience in the Indian/global insurance market. The job grade of the successful candidates for this role will depend on their respective qualities and experience.
• The typical responsibilities of the role include
  • Product development and pricing
  • Statutory reporting
  • Solvency assessment
  • IFimplementation
• Build appropriate Excel model for the above-mentioned projects allowing for client product features and relevant regulations.
• Lend support on strands of research and Specialisms work (e.g. solvency II updates, IF) work aimed at providing key insights to help our clients / consultants.
• Develop cutting edge proposals for winning new and different clients / engagements.
• Work closely with the team to develop consistent standards and best practice.
• Sharing knowledge in a timely and effective way by submitting regularly to the knowledge database.
• Contribute to wider opportunities within EY and to raising its profile externally e.g. taking an active role in writing articles for The Actuary.
• Develop and maintain deep technical knowledge in Excel modelling skills.
• Present internally and externally on areas of technical specialist knowledge.
• Develop reports and presentations for the client.

Key Skills & Qualifications

• Proven ability to balance priorities and manage many competing demands to agreed deadlines and to the required level of quality.
• Hands-on experience of 6 months + into General Insurance (Actuarial domain) who has cleared minimum of 4 actuarial exams
• Ability to give/receive constructive feedback
• Self-motivated, uses own initiative and is outcome-focused.
• Dealing constructively with uncertainty and ambiguity.
• Good working knowledge of the relevant actuarial concepts and methodologies
• Working knowledge of tools like R, Python, SAS, SQL etc.
• Knowledge of the latest accounting standard (IF) which is being implemented across various geographies across the world.
• Confidence in speaking and expressing views through a variety of platforms like publications (internal/external), seminars etc
