Job summary

Guidehouse India is seeking qualified Medical Coding professionals to transform medical diagnoses and procedures into ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS codes, while meeting daily targets and maintaining high quality. You will collaborate with the team lead and QA analysts to ensure accurate, compliant coding and data integrity.

The role requires 2–3 years of relevant experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently within a collaborative coding team.

Qualifications

• Strong ability to interpret medical records across specialties.
• Excellent interpersonal, listening and organizational skills.
• Ability to work with speed and accuracy in coding using ICD-10-CM and CPT.
• Experience with radiology and Emergency Room coding preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately transforms medical diagnoses and procedures into ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS codes.
• Ensure daily coding volumes are completed within Turnaround Time.
• Review input volumes with TL and provide feedback.
• Maintain quality and productivity per client guidelines.
• Attend weekly QA and team meetings with QA/Team Lead.
• Adhere to information security policy and protect data confidentiality.

• Ensure that the daily coding volumes for the team are turned around accurately within the specified Turnaround Time.
• Checking input volumes allotted by TL
• Coding reports as per client guidelines and coding guidelines by maintaining operational quality and productivity.
• Regular interaction with TL and getting feedbacks.
• This position requires that one performs well independently and in a collaborative manner with their entire coding team.
• Understands in detail the workflow, procedures and specific criteria for the assigned client.
• Ensures he/she meets the monthly target with above 95% accuracy consistently
• Attend the Weekly QA / Team meetings without fail and respond in two way communication with the Quality analyst/Team Lead.
• Shall understand and abide by the organizations’ information security policy and protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of all information assets.
• Shall report incidents related to security of information to concerned authorities.

What You Will Need

• Any Life science, Paramedical Graduates and Post Graduates
• Minimum Experience: 2-3 year experience.
• Basic Skill set:
• Strong ability to interpret medical records of the patients in different specialties.
• Ability to communicate, have excellent interpersonal, listening skills and organizational skills.
• Ability to work with speed and accuracy.
• Good analytic skills and expertise to be proficient in accurately coding medical records utilizing ICD-10-CM and CPT conventions especially emergency room coding, exposure to radiology , Orthopaedic Equipment (E/m) work types.

What Would Be Nice To Have

• Proficiency in MS Office/excel
• Experience in coding software or encoder (3M, Trucode, Optum)
• Familiarity with HER/EMR systems (EPIC, Cerner, etc.,)
• Knowledge of multiple coding specialties (ED,EM (OP&IP), etc
