Job summary

Guidehouse India is seeking qualified Medical Coders to transform diagnoses and procedures into ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes with accuracy. The role requires strong interpretation of medical records, adherence to client guidelines, and timely turnaround of coding volumes.

You will collaborate with team leads, meet monthly targets, and maintain data security compliance. Experience in radiology, EM/OP/IP coding and familiarity with coding software (3M, Trucode, Optum) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Transform medical diagnoses and procedures into ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS codes.
• Maintain QA turnaround times and team productivity.
• Code according to client guidelines and coding standards.
• Engage with TL and QA/Team Lead for feedback.
• Understand workflow and criteria for assigned client.
• Meet monthly targets with high accuracy.
• Attend Weekly QA / Team meetings and participate in two-way communication with QA analyst/Team Lead.
• Adhere to information security policy and protect data confidentiality.

What You Will Do

• Accurately transforms medical diagnoses and procedures into designated alphanumerical codes in ICD-10-CM , CPT and HCPCS codes.
• Ensure that the daily coding volumes for the team are turned around accurately within the specified Turnaround Time.
• Checking input volumes allotted by TL
• Coding reports as per client guidelines and coding guidelines by maintaining operational quality and productivity.
• Regular interaction with TL and getting feedbacks.
• This position requires that one performs well independently and in a collaborative manner with their entire coding team.
• Understands in detail the workflow, procedures and specific criteria for the assigned client.
• Ensures he/she meets the monthly target with above 95% accuracy consistently
• Attend the Weekly QA / Team meetings without fail and respond in two way communication with the Quality analyst/Team Lead.
• Shall understand and abide by the organizations’ information security policy and protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of all information assets.
• Shall report incidents related to security of information to concerned authorities.

What You Will Need

• Any Life science, Paramedical Graduates and Post Graduates
• Minimum Experience: 2-3 year experience.
• Basic Skill set:
• Strong ability to interpret medical records of the patients in different specialties.
• Ability to communicate, have excellent interpersonal, listening skills and organizational skills.
• Ability to work with speed and accuracy.
• Good analytic skills and expertise to be proficient in accurately coding medical records utilizing ICD-10-CM and CPT conventions especially emergency room coding, exposure to radiology , Ob/Gyn (E/m & Surgery) work types.

What Would Be Nice To Have

• Proficiency in MS Office/excel
• Experience in coding software or encoder (3M, Trucode, Optum)
• Familiarity with HER/EMR systems (EPIC, Cerner, etc.,)
• Knowledge of multiple coding specialties (ED,EM (OP&IP), etc
