Job summary

Guidehouse India is seeking a Medical Coding professional in Chennai to accurately translate diagnoses and procedures into ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes. You will manage daily coding volumes, adhere to turnaround times, and maintain high accuracy.

The ideal candidate holds life science/paramedical credentials with 2+ years of experience and AAPC/AHIMA certification. Strong communication and teamwork are essential to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• Life science or paramedical graduates with certification.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in medical coding.
• Must hold AAPC/AHIMA credentials (CPC/COC/CCS).
• Strong written and verbal communication with good organizational skills.
• Ability to code using ICD-10-CM and CPT with high accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Accurately transform diagnoses and procedures into ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS codes.
• Maintain daily coding volume within turnaround time.
• Review input volumes as directed by team lead.
• Code reports per client and coding guidelines with quality and productivity.
• Interact with team lead and QA for feedback.
• Work independently and with the coding team collaboratively.
• Understand client workflow and criteria for coding.
• Meet monthly targets with >95% accuracy and participate in QA/meetings.

• Ensure that the daily coding volumes for the team are turned around accurately within the specified Turnaround Time.


• Checking input volumes allotted by TL


• Coding reports as per client guidelines and coding guidelines by maintaining operational quality and productivity.


• Regular interaction with TL and getting feedbacks.


• This position requires that one performs well independently and in a collaborative manner with their entire coding team.


• Understands in detail the workflow, procedures and specific criteria for the assigned client.


• Ensures he/she meets the monthly target with above 95% accuracy consistently


• Attend the Weekly QA / Team meetings without fail and respond in two way communication with the Quality analyst/Team Lead.

What You Will Need

• Any Life science, Paramedical Graduates and Post Graduates


• Minimum Experience: 2+ year experience.


• Strong ability to interpret medical records of the patients in different specialties.


• Must be certified from AAPC or AHIMA (CPC, COC, CCS)


• Ability to communicate, have excellent interpersonal, listening skills and organizational skills.


• Ability to work with speed and accuracy.


• Good analytic skills and expertise to be proficient in accurately coding medical records utilizing ICD-10-CM and CPT conventions especially emergency room coding, ED Facility work types.

What Would Be Nice To Have

• Proficiency in MS Office


• Knowledge in coding softwares like 3M, Encoder Pro
