Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and cost‑optimized cloud solutions primarily on Azure.
- Drive adoption of PaaS, managed services, and container‑based deployment models.
- Enable deployment architecture using Azure App Service, Azure Functions, Blob Storage, Key Vault, Entra ID / AAD.
- Establish cloud governance, environment consistency, access control, and cost optimization practices.
Containerization & Platform Engineering
- Design and implement container‑based application deployment using Docker.
- Build and optimize Docker Compose setups for multi‑service environments and multi‑stage builds for secure, lightweight images.
- Support deployment using orchestration services such as Kubernetes (AKS / EKS awareness) or Azure Container Apps.
- Improve platform consistency, portability, and deployment repeatability.
CI/CD & DevOps Transformation
- Architect and implement end‑to‑end CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions / Azure DevOps.
- Enable automated builds, testing, and deployment with multi‑stage environment promotion.
- Support deployment strategies such as blue‑green, canary, or rolling updates.
- Improve release reliability, deployment speed, and operational maturity.
Reliability, Observability & Operations
- Implement observability using structured logging, distributed tracing, dashboards, and APM tooling.
- Enable health checks, readiness validation, alerting, incident response readiness, and SLO‑based monitoring.
- Support resilience mechanisms including retries, graceful degradation, and fault‑aware deployment patterns.
Security & DevSecOps
- Implement secure DevOps practices including secret management, identity and role‑based access controls, and pipeline‑integrated security scans.
- Ensure secure configuration and alignment with enterprise standards for cloud delivery and operations.
Performance & Scalability
- Support performance strategies including caching, autoscaling, deployment tuning, and environment optimization.
- Assist with provisioning and managing Redis / distributed cache services where applicable.
- Enable scalable deployment patterns for growing user demand and system load.
Required Technical Skills
- Docker / Containers – Advanced (Compose, multi‑stage builds, image hardening, container deployment)
- Azure Cloud – Proficient (App Service, Functions, Blob Storage, Key Vault, Entra ID / AAD)
- CI/CD – Advanced (GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps; automated testing and staged deployments)
- Git – Advanced (branching strategies, PR workflows, repository governance)
- Cluster Provisioning & Management – Proficient (Kubernetes / AKS / container orchestration awareness)
- Monitoring & Operations – Proficient (Azure Monitor, App Insights, dashboards, alerts, logs)
- Security & Automation – Proficient (secrets, identity, access control, scanning, IaC awareness)
Required Experience
- Minimum 6 years of professional experience in Cloud / DevOps engineering.
- Proven experience in enabling cloud‑native deployment practices for enterprise or SaaS applications.
- Hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipelines, release automation, and environment promotion strategies.
- Experience supporting containerized deployments and modern cloud‑hosted applications.
- Experience with observability, operational monitoring, and incident‑supporting platform practices.
- Exposure to secure DevOps practices, secrets management, and identity‑based access controls.
- Experience improving deployment reliability, automation, and operational consistency across environments.
Preferred (Not Required)
- Exposure to MVP‑to‑production modernization programs.
- Experience with Terraform / Bicep / infrastructure‑as‑code tooling.
- Exposure to SaaS multi‑tenancy, API gateways, or cloud platform hardening.
- Experience in consultancy, infrastructure, or engineering sector platforms.
- Exposure to AI‑assisted engineering productivity tooling.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of hands‑on experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or platform operations.
Background Verification (BGV)
- Employment with WSP India is subject to the successful completion of a background verification (“BGV”) check conducted by a third‑party agency appointed by WSP India.
