Job summary

Nextpower, based in Hyderabad, seeks a Senior Civil Engineer to design terrain and grading, model with Civil 3D, and optimize earthwork for solar tracker projects. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate tracker layout and cost-efficient execution.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Civil/Mechanical with 5–8 years of experience in Civil 3D Software Handling.
• Through knowledge of Civil 3D commands or any other equivalent CAD environment.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Good knowledge on drafting and detailing standards
• Very good communication skills

Responsibilities

• Terrain & grading design using desktop assessments for solar tracker slope tolerances.
• Civil 3D modelling of ground surfaces, alignments, and corridors to optimize tracker tilt constraints.
• Earthwork optimization: calculate cut-and-fill volumes to minimize soil disturbance and costs.
• Design site drainage and stormwater systems and plan access roads parallel or perpendicular to trackers.
• Coordinate with electrical and structural teams to verify pile/foundation placement and avoid shading.
• Review geotechnical and topographical reports and respond to RFIs during construction.
• Day-to-day tasks include grading analysis, slope analysis, and contour studies.

Here is a glimpse of what you will do:

• Terrain & Grading Design: Perform desktop assessments and design cost-effective land grading, levelling, and terracing strategies tailored specifically to solar tracker slope tolerances.


• Civil 3D Modelling: Build intelligent existing and proposed ground surfaces, alignments, and corridors using AutoCAD Civil 3D to align tracker rows with optimal tilt constraints.


• Earthwork Optimization: Analyses and calculate precise cut-and-fill volumes, minimizing soil disturbance and balancing earthwork to curb construction costs.


• Drainage & Stormwater Planning: Design site-specific stormwater management systems, erosion control measures, and access road networks running parallel or perpendicular to tracker arrays.


• Tracker Layout Integration: Collaborate with electrical and structural teams to verify pile/foundation placement, ensuring tracker rotational clearance over varied topography without inter-row shading.


• Cross-functional Coordination: Review geotechnical, hydrological, and topographical survey reports to refine constructability and issue Request for Information (RFI) responses during construction.


• Tasks to be perform on day-to-day activity – Grading Analysis, Slope Analysis, Detailed Slope analysis with contour study for the site.
