Job summary

Nextpower in Hyderabad seeks a Civil Engineer to join our Civil & Automation team, reporting to the Manager. You will design, model, and optimize earthworks for solar tracker projects using Civil 3D.

The role requires 2–5 years of Civil/Mechanical background, strong CAD skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining drafting standards and clear communication with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Civil 3D commands and CAD standards.

Job description

Job Description: The Civil Engineer will be based in Hyderabad. In this position, you will report to the Manager, Civil & Automation. Glimpse of what you will do:

• Terrain & Grading Design: Perform desktop assessments and design cost-effective land grading, levelling, and terracing strategies tailored specifically to solar tracker slope tolerances.
• Civil 3D Modelling: Build intelligent existing and proposed ground surfaces, alignments, and corridors using AutoCAD Civil 3D to align tracker rows with optimal tilt constraints.
• Earthwork Optimization: Analyses and calculate precise cut-and-fill volumes, minimizing soil disturbance and balancing earthwork to curb construction costs.
• Drainage & Stormwater Planning: Design site-specific stormwater management systems, erosion control measures, and access road networks running parallel or perpendicular to tracker arrays.
• Tracker Layout Integration: Collaborate with electrical and structural teams to verify pile/foundation placement, ensuring tracker rotational clearance over varied topography without inter-row shading.
• Cross-functional Coordination: Review geotechnical, hydrological, and topographical survey reports to refine constructability and issue Request for Information (RFI) responses during construction.

Tasks to be perform on day-to-day activity – Grading Analysis, Slope Analysis, Detailed Slope analysis with contour study for the site.

Required:

• B.E/B.Tech in Civil/Mechanical with (2-5) years of experience in Civil 3D Software Handling.
• Through knowledge of Civil 3D commands or any other equivalent CAD environment.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Good knowledge on drafting and detailing standards.
• Very good communication skills

• Experience in solar industry is preferred but not compulsory
