Job summary

Persistent is seeking an experienced Senior CIAM Engineer to design, implement, and manage secure customer identity solutions across web, mobile, and digital channels in Bengaluru.

You will work with privacy, security, and product teams to ensure privacy compliance, consent management, and scalable authentication and authorization workflows using OAuth/OIDC/SAML. This role demands 8–12 years of IAM experience and hands-on CIAM platform expertise.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of experience in Identity & Access Management / CIAM or cybersecurity engineering.
• Hands-on with leading CIAM platforms and modern identity protocols.
• Strong knowledge of privacy regulations, consent management, and data protection.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement end-to-end CIAM solutions for web, mobile, and digital platforms.

About Position:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Customer Identity & Access Management (CIAM) Engineer to design, implement, and manage secure customer identity solutions that deliver seamless registration, authentication, authorization, consent management, and profile management experiences. The ideal candidate will play a key role in building scalable and secure digital identity ecosystems while ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and industry security standards. You will work closely with product, application, architecture, privacy, and security teams to deliver customer-centric identity solutions across web, mobile, and digital channels.

What You'll Do:

• Design, develop, and implement end-to-end customer identity and access management solutions for web, mobile, and digital platforms.


• Build and integrate customer registration, login, self-service account recovery, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and consent management journeys.


• Configure and manage customer authentication and authorization workflows using OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), SAML, and modern identity protocols.


• Implement identity proofing, progressive profiling, customer onboarding, and risk-based authentication capabilities.


• Integrate CIAM platforms with web applications, mobile applications, CRM systems, APIs, and downstream enterprise applications.


• Configure federation, social login, single sign-on (SSO), passwordless authentication, and consumer identity services.


• Troubleshoot authentication issues, token flows, federation problems, and application integration challenges.


• Collaborate with product owners, enterprise architects, privacy teams, and security stakeholders to define customer identity requirements.


• Ensure compliance with privacy, consent, and data protection regulations through secure identity lifecycle processes.


• Develop technical documentation, architecture diagrams, integration standards, and operational procedures.


• Monitor identity services performance, security posture, and customer authentication experiences.


• Support platform upgrades, enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Expertise You'll Bring:

• 8 to 12 years of experience in Identity & Access Management, Customer Identity Management, CIAM, or Cybersecurity Engineering.


• Strong hands-on experience with leading CIAM platforms such as Okta Customer Identity, Auth0, PingOne, ForgeRock, Microsoft Entra External ID, SAP Customer Data Cloud (Gigya), or similar solutions.


• Deep understanding of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), SAML 2.0, JWT, API Security, and Identity Federation concepts.


• Experience designing and implementing customer registration, authentication, authorization, consent, and profile management journeys.


• Strong expertise in Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), passwordless authentication, adaptive authentication, and risk-based access controls.


• Experience integrating CIAM platforms with web applications, mobile applications, CRM systems, APIs, and enterprise ecosystems.


• Knowledge of privacy regulations, consent management frameworks, customer data protection, and secure identity lifecycle management.


• Understanding of identity proofing, progressive profiling, customer onboarding, and fraud prevention controls.


• Experience working with REST APIs, JSON, web services, and modern application integration patterns.


• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform.


• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills related to authentication and federation flows.


• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.


• Experience reviewing solution architecture and providing technical leadership for CIAM initiatives.


• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, Engineering, or a related discipline.


• Relevant certifications from Okta, Ping Identity, ForgeRock, Microsoft, ISC2, or similar platforms are highly desirable.
