Job summary

SUN Mobility in Bengaluru seeks a Senior C++ Engineer with 5–7 years of experience to design high-performance software for embedded Linux and distributed systems.

You will develop C++20/23 applications, implement TCP/IP networking, multithreading, and Docker-based deployments, and collaborate with firmware, hardware, and cloud teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience as a C++ engineer.
• Strong hands-on in Embedded Linux and distributed systems.
• Excellent knowledge of networking and TCP/IP.
• Experience with Docker and Linux debugging.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain robust, production-grade applications using C++20/C++23.
• Develop software and services for Embedded Linux platforms.
• Design and implement reliable communication using TCP/IP, socket programming, MQTT, HTTP/HTTPS and REST APIs.
• Develop and maintain multithreaded and concurrent applications.
• Work with messaging frameworks such as NATS, MQTT and Azure IoT Hub.
• Implement timeouts, retries, reconnection and error handling.
• Develop software for communication with hardware devices and external systems.
• Work with PostgreSQL/TimescaleDB and integrate databases with C++ apps.
• Develop and deploy containerized applications using Docker.
• Debug complex application, networking, concurrency and runtime issues in Linux.
• Analyze logs, core dumps and system behavior to resolve production issues.
• Participate in software architecture, design and technical discussions.
• Code reviews to improve quality and maintainability.
• Collaborate with firmware, hardware, cloud and other software teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.

We are looking for a Senior C++ Engineer with 5–7 years of experience to join our engineering team and work on high-performance software for Embedded Linux and distributed systems.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in modern C++ (C++20/C++23), excellent knowledge of computer networking and network programming, Linux, multithreading, messaging systems, databases and Docker.

The candidate should be comfortable working on complex, communication-intensive systems and troubleshooting production issues across software, networking and distributed services.
