Job summary

Plug Power in Maharashtra, India, is seeking a Senior Buyer for Project Procurement to plan, source, negotiate, and manage procurement for projects, ensuring on-time delivery, quality and budget alignment.

You will collaborate with project managers, engineering, finance, and suppliers, handle RFQs/RFPs, supplier performance, and risk mitigation throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Experience in Sourcing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
• 5–10+ years of procurement or strategic sourcing experience.
• Strong negotiation, contract management, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in project-based environments (construction, engineering, energy, manufacturing).
• Proficiency in ERP/procurement systems and MS Office.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Leadership qualities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute project-specific procurement strategies and plans.
• Source suppliers, issue RFQs/RFPs, evaluate bids, and lead commercial negotiations.
• Award contracts and purchase orders in compliance with company policies.

The Project Procurement Senior buyer is responsible for planning, sourcing, negotiating, and managing the procurement of goods and services required for projects and products, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

This role collaborates closely with project managers, engineering, finance, and suppliers to support successful project execution. When required, sourcing and senior buyer support to other project procurement teams will be part of the role.

Key Responsibilities
