Senior Business Systems Analyst – EPM
Location: Bangalore, Hyderabad, India.
Essential Responsibilities
Functional Responsibilities
- Own and drive FP&A needs across business functions for smooth business financial operations and accurate reporting.
- Partner with business users to build new functionality, optimize existing modules, and improve programs for a seamless planning and forecasting experience.
- Act as the subject matter expert and key contact to ensure FP&A business systems run effectively with proper controls.
- Drive future FP&A projects and program strategy, collaborating with solution architects, senior analysts, and project managers to achieve objectives.
- Serve as the DT Planning contact to ensure systems communicate effectively and controls are in place.
- Maintain regular communication with DT and business leadership via project status updates.
- Provide support to core DT and business teams, ensuring solutions do not impact user experience.
- Assist with training for end‑users, subordinates, and new resources in EPM modules.
- Collaborate with vendors, partners, and DT teams (Operations, Infrastructure, Integration, DBAs) to address issues.
- Lead process improvements, influencing stakeholders outside the job function.
Technical Responsibilities
- Design, document, test, deploy, and maintain EPM Cloud (EPBCS, FCCS, ARCS) applications.
- Create, manage, and maintain metadata and data accuracy for DRM and Essbase across all EPM applications.
- Design, create, and configure EPBCS/FCCS, FDMEE objects such as rules, mappings, data grids, task lists, and web forms.
- Develop solutions on EPM application artifacts such as business rules, calculation scripts, reports, and rule scripts.
- Own and drive metadata and data loads, data conversion, consolidations, eliminations, and reconciliations.
- Coordinate with vendors on product issues and bugs.
- Prepare key deliverables: requirement and design documents, test plans and cases, training materials, and administration guides.
- Utilize additional EPM modules and scripting (Essbase, DRM, ODI, Shell, VB, Python) for infrastructure design and scalability.
- Maintain development, QA, and production environments, including documentation and change‑management processes.
- Assist in audit tasks, disaster‑recovery testing, SOX activities, and system patching.
- Lead upgrades of Hyperion EPM Cloud and enable new functionality.
Primary Tasks
- Solution design and development for EPBCS, ARCS, and FCCS tailored to planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Manage data integration from various sources, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Implement customizations and configurations aligned with business processes.
- Conduct comprehensive testing, including data validation and user acceptance testing.
- Create documentation and provide training to end users.
- Offer post‑implementation support, monitor performance, and recommend enhancements.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university.
- Minimum eight years of experience with Hyperion EPM and Oracle EPM Cloud implementations.
- Proven expertise in EPBCS, FCCS, ARCS, EDMCS, and narrative reporting.
- Strong technical and functional knowledge: Python or Groovy scripting, REST APIs, calculation scripts, SQL/PLSQL, and EPM Automate.
- Experience implementing AI‑driven capabilities within EPM Cloud.
- Ability to translate business needs into scalable EPM Cloud architecture.
- Experience developing functional and technical specifications, test plans, and scripts.
- Collaborative skills with finance, IT/DT, and business teams.
- Manage application security, user provisioning, and integration with IDCS or Okta.
- Configure and enhance EPBCS modules such as Workforce Planning, Capital Asset Planning, and Financials.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with a global, diverse team.
