Job summary

Bounteous is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join a data engineering program in a capital markets context. The role focuses on standardising data and integrating vendor feeds by defining how trades and orders from multiple external sources are normalised, validated, and consumed by downstream systems.

You will map data from exchanges, brokers and platforms to internal models, define validation rules, and lead onboarding efforts across parallel workstreams in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years as a Business Analyst in capital markets.
• Deep knowledge of asset classes including Fixed Income, FX, Equities and Listed Derivatives.
• Strong understanding of order and trade lifecycle, including multi-leg structures and clearing flows.
• Experience with data mapping and data modelling between source and target systems.
• Proficient with JSON and SQL and schema-based validation approaches.
• Experience defining test cases for data transformation or integration projects.
• Programme-level awareness: dependencies, multi-workstream delivery, and stakeholder reporting.
• Familiar with Agile delivery and working with engineering teams.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse and document data from external vendors — exchanges, brokers, and inter-dealer platforms — and define how it maps to internal data models.
• Produce clear, detailed mapping specifications including transformation logic, conditional rules, and default handling.
• Define validation rules and data quality acceptance criteria.
• Lead the data analysis workstream for new vendor onboardings — gap analysis, field mapping, and stakeholder alignment.
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure data mappings meet technical and performance requirements.
• Coordinate across workstreams, track deliverables, and report progress to programme leadership.
• Maintain documentation of data models, mapping logic, and vendor-specific considerations.

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years as a Business Analyst in capital markets.
• Strong understanding of asset classes — Fixed Income, FX, Equities, and Listed Derivatives.
• Deep knowledge of order and trade lifecycle — order types, execution strategies, multi-leg structures, and clearing flows.
• Experience with data mapping and data modelling between source and target systems.
• Comfortable with JSON, SQL, and schema-based validation approaches.
• Experience defining test cases for data transformation or integration projects.
• Programme-level awareness — managing dependencies, tracking delivery across parallel workstreams, and stakeholder reporting.
• Familiar with Git and working alongside engineering teams in an Agile delivery model.

Nice to Have

• Exposure to kdb+ / q or time-series databases.
• Understanding of FIX protocol or similar market data message formats.
• Experience with automated data validation.
• Prior work normalising data across multiple vendor feeds.
