Job summary

AMD is seeking a Senior BIOS & Firmware Applications Engineer in Bengaluru to drive advanced BIOS/UEFI solutions. You will craft demos, assist customers, benchmark systems, and test performance across Linux and RTOS environments.

You should bring strong Python/C++ skills, deep embedded systems knowledge, and hands-on experience with UEFI BIOS variants like EDK2 and Coreboot. Collaboration across geographies is essential in this fast-paced role.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience with BIOS on UEFI/ BIOS.
• Knowledge of BIOS variants like EDK2 and Coreboot.
• Experience with BIOS debugging, tuning, customization.
• System level understanding of Embedded Systems, including Processors, System Interfaces, and system requirements.
• Good understanding of Operating Systems (like Linux) and Software Stack.
• Hands-on with AMD x86 Embedded tools, devices, boards and software.
• Technical expertise in Application CPUs, real-time CPUs and microcontrollers in x86 architecture.
• Experience with Bootloaders, U-boot, and Linux.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to write notes, papers, and presentations.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment as part of a cross-geography team.
• Fully self-sufficient in software development concepts, coding, and debugging.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work with engineering, marketing, customers, FAEs and sales.

Responsibilities

• Define and create customer demos or example designs.
• Support customers with BIOS issues and configuration on x86-based processing systems.
• Run industry standard benchmarks and present results to the field and customers.
• Develop and run tests to measure system bandwidth and latency using performance tools.
• Develop and test systems with Linux and/or RTOS.
• Investigate issues on protocols like I2C, UART, USB, Ethernet, PCIe etc.
• Strong programming skills and understanding of Python and C/C++.
• Document best practices for BIOS, performance optimization, etc.
• Develop training and marketing material for Sales team.
• Drive needs back through engineering to deliver customer solutions.

Job Requirements

• 7+yrs of experience and prior working experienceon UEFIBIOS
• Good understanding ofBIOS variants like EDK2 andCoreboot
