Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with DevOps experience based in India. You will design scalable backend services and REST APIs, build microservice-based applications using Java and Spring Boot or Quarkus, and integrate with SQL databases like PostgreSQL.

In this remote role, you will design scalable APIs and microservices while contributing to cloud-native development and operational excellence. Using Java and modern frameworks such as Spring Boot or Quarkus, you will help deliver secure, reliable, and high-performing software solutions. You will work across distributed systems, event-driven architectures, database integrations, and messaging platforms to support complex enterprise applications. Combining backend engineering with DevOps practices, you will improve deployment workflows, automate delivery processes, and strengthen platform reliability. Requirements:

The ideal candidate combines strong Java backend engineering expertise with practical DevOps experience and a solid understanding of distributed, cloud-native applications.

• Strong hands-on experience with Java and frameworks such as Spring Boot and/or Quarkus.
• Proven experience designing and developing REST APIs and microservice architectures.
• Solid knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts.
• Practical experience with PostgreSQL or comparable relational database technologies.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, clean code principles, and automated testing.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization technologies, and Kubernetes.
• Experience troubleshooting applications across development, testing, deployment, and production environments.
• Knowledge of distributed systems and asynchronous communication patterns.
• Understanding of event-driven architectures and messaging technologies such as Kafka or similar platforms.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Fluency in English.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with GitLab CI, Argo CD, and Helm.
• Knowledge of authentication and authorization standards, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and JSON Web Tokens (JWT).
• Experience working in cloud-native environments.
• Familiarity with infrastructure automation and deployment automation practices.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
