Job summary

GSS Group in India is seeking a hands-on backend engineer to build scalable services with Node.js and Express, and to own end-to-end automated test coverage. The role blends development with quality assurance, leveraging AI-assisted tools to speed delivery while maintaining rigor.

You will design, implement, and maintain backend systems, work with PostgreSQL and MongoDB, and collaborate using Git and Jira in a fast-paced environment that values code quality and reliability.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with Node.js and Express.
• Experience with automated testing tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or Rest–Assured.
• Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Proficiency with Git and JIRA.
• Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code preferred).

Responsibilities

About the Role

We're hiring an engineer who can build scalable backend services, own automated test coverage end-to-end, and use AI-assisted development tools to move faster without cutting corners. This is a hands-on role for someone comfortable owning both the "build it" and "prove it works" sides of the pipeline.
