Job Description

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining the data integration solutions that connect an organization's data sources and systems to our agentic suite. You will help build the core pipework between external systems, our agentic suite and the frontend presentation layer, along with the supporting auth, observability and notification systems.

You will be:

• Designing, building and managing a highly scalable platform
• Designing, building and managing our external as well as internal APIs
• Building data connectors and pipelines that enable seamless data flow
• Integrating across platforms, systems of record, databases, APIs and third-party applications
• Building core systems such as auth, observability, notifications and security
• Bridging the gap between non-AI and AI flows

Your work will directly drive the accuracy and outcomes of our agentic platform.

Responsibilities

• Understand the data models, APIs and protocols of various data sources, and develop connectors that extract, transform and load data effectively.
• Define data mappings, transformations and business rules to ensure the consistency and accuracy of integrated data.
• Identify opportunities to optimize data integration processes, reduce latency and improve data quality for AI agents.
• Rigorously test data connectors and integration processes to identify and resolve issues. Ensure data integrity, reliability and consistency through regular validation and reconciliation.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, user guides and best practices for data integration and connector development.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting to resolve integration issues.
• Adhere to data governance policies, standards and regulatory requirements when handling sensitive and confidential data, and implement the security measures needed to protect data in integration and transit.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience building enterprise-grade backend systems.
• Strong understanding of data architecture, models and diverse data formats
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Effective use of AI coding tools to move faster while maintaining very high quality and complete ownership.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture, design patterns and best practices.
• Solid understanding of integration patterns, protocols and APIs.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Familiarity with data governance, data security and compliance standards is desired.
• Familiarity with financial services domain is a plus.
