Job summary

SRM Technologies is seeking a Senior Backend Developer to design and build scalable Python/FastAPI backends for on‑site delivery in Chennai. You will work on REST APIs, WebSockets, microservices, and secure, compliant architectures in a fintech/regulatory context.

You will design databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL/MongoDB), implement authentication, and collaborate in Agile teams while ensuring performance, reliability, and maintainability of production systems.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python and FastAPI.
• Experience building REST, WebSockets, or gRPC services.
• Database design and ORM experience.
• Asynchronous programming and scalable system design.
• Familiarity with microservices and API lifecycle management.
• CI/CD, Docker, and cloud deployment experience.
• Secure coding practices (JWT, OAuth, encryption).
• Experience in Agile/Scrum teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field preferred.

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Backend Developer with strong expertise in Python and FastAPI to design and build scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience in API development, database design, system architecture, and deploying highly available applications, preferably within fintech or regulated environments.

Required Skills & Experience

Must have
