Job summary

Tenarai is seeking a Senior Artificial Intelligence Engineer to transform AI proof-of-concepts into production-ready, scalable solutions. The role requires ownership end to end with guidance to the team on AI engineering best practices.

You will work on LLM applications, RAG, and enterprise-grade AI systems, building and deploying with FastAPI, Azure OpenAI, and secure data practices in a hybrid Bengaluru setting.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of software development experience.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying LLM-based applications in a production environment.
• Experience taking AI/ML prototypes into production and operable as monitored services.
• Ability to translate business problems into practical AI use cases with measurable KPIs.

Responsibilities

• Take AI solutions from idea and prototype to production.
• Own solutions independently end to end.
• Guide the team on AI engineering best practices and new technologies.
• Convert business problems into practical AI use cases with measurable KPIs.
• Design enterprise-grade AI solutions that are scalable, secure, reusable, and maintainable.
• Choose suitable technologies based on best practices, cost, risks, benefits, performance, and scalability.
• Build complete AI solutions from problem understanding and design through development, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Develop LLM applications using prompts, system instructions, context, RAG, evaluation, and guardrails.
• Develop, train, and deploy ML/DL models when required.
• Build test frameworks and monitoring to ensure reliable production performance.
• Provide technical direction to other team members.

Additional Responsibilities

• Work on LLM-based solutions such as APIs, RAG, and AI agents
• Work on classical machine learning and deep learning solutions such as forecasting, anomaly detection, and computer vision
• Provide technical guidance on AI engineering approaches
• Design and consume REST APIs
• Build APIs and services using FastAPI or a similar framework
• Work with SQL, databases, and structured data
• Use software engineering practices including code reviews, automated testing, and documentation
• Use managed LLM platforms in production
• Apply secure credential and configuration management practices such as Managed Identity and Azure Key Vault

Nice To Have

• Experience with Machine Learning algorithms for regression and classification
• Basic knowledge of React and TypeScript for AI application/interface prototyping
• Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge of Responsible AI, explainability, AI governance, and security
• Experience with data analysis and visualization
• Azure OpenAI / Azure AI Foundry experience is strongly preferred, including GPT-4o and managed embedding models
