Job summary

Globant is seeking an Expert-Level JAVA Architect to lead complex API designs and enterprise integrations from Pune. You will define standards, data flows, and integration patterns while guiding Java/Spring-based solutions in cloud and containerized environments.

You will mentor engineers, review production code, and drive non-functional requirements, reliability, and observability across teams. 8+ years in software engineering and leadership roles is expected.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Java, Spring, RESTful services, and distributed systems.
• Strong hands-on experience with: Java,Spring / Spring Boot,RESTful APIs, Distributed systems,API integrations.
• Strong understanding of: API contracts and design,API versioning,Backward compatibility,Error handling, Idempotency,Event-driven integration.
• Deep technical knowledge of API contracts, versioning, compatibility, error handling,idempotency, and event-driven integration.
• Cloud & DevOps: Experience with cloud-hosted, containerized applications, CI/CD,Observability, resilience, and automated testing.

Responsibilities

• Align teams on shared contracts, dependencies, and technical decisions.
• Improve platform quality including observability, resilience, performance, and production support.
• Mentor engineers and technical leads through design guidance and code review.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including enterprise API delivery and comparable technical leadership role.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of: API contracts and design,API versioning,Backward compatibility,Error handling, Idempotency,Event-driven integration
• Deep technical knowledge of API contracts, versioning, compatibility, error handling,idempotency, and event-driven integration
• Cloud & DevOps: Experience with cloud-hosted, containerized applications, CI/CD,Observability, resilience, and automated testing
• Architecture translation: Ability to turn high-level requirements into practical architecture and buildable technical work
• Code review & coaching: Experience reviewing production code and coaching developers through actionable feedback
• Leadership & communication: Strong communication skills and the ability to drive decisions across teams without direct authority
• Experience in AWS preferred or any cloud experience
• Experience in Copilot

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting multiple API teams or a shared enterprise platform
• Background in financial services, retirement services, or another regulated industry
• Experience modernizing legacy systems or applying domain-driven design
• Familiarity with API management, service security, and identity patterns
• Experience establishing engineering standards and reusable platform patterns
• Strong production troubleshooting skills using logs, metrics, and tracing
