Job summary

Syneos Health is seeking a Senior Architect to lead complex enterprise and cloud-native architecture efforts across our Azure ecosystem. You will translate business requirements into scalable designs, guide migration strategies, and drive modern software delivery with a strong DevOps mindset.

You will mentor 7-10+ engineers, define governance patterns, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver secure, performant solutions.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of IT experience in software development and architecture.
• 5+ years designing and delivering Azure-based solutions.
• 3+ years in an Application/Solution Architect role.
• Proven experience with cloud-native architectures and microservices.
• Experience leading engineering teams and cross-functional collaboration.

Job Responsibilities

Desired Qualifications:

• 12+ years of overall IT experience in software development and architecture.
• Minimum 5+ years of hands- on experience designing and delivering solutions on Microsoft Azure.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in an Application Architect/Solution Architect role.
• Proven experience designing cloud-native applications using Azure and microservices architecture.
• Strong expertise in API-driven architectures, distributed systems, and enterprise application design.
• Experience leading end-to-end solution delivery from architecture through implementation.
• Experience leading and mentoring engineering teams of 7-10+ developers.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Azure Solutions Architect Expert Certification (AZ-305 or equivalent).
• Clinical, Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical, or GxP-regulated environment experience.
• Knowledge of Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
• Experience with application modernization and enterprise integrations.

Job description & Overview:

Architecture & Solution Design

• Lead design of complex enterprise and cloud-native architectures.
• Define architecture patterns including microservices, APIs, and distributed systems.
• Translate business requirements into technical designs and specifications.
• Drive application modernization and migration strategies.

Azure Cloud Architecture

• Design solutions using Azure services such as App Services, Functions, Azure SQL, Blob Storage, and Key Vault.
• Architect secure, scalable, and cost-optimized cloud environments.
• Implement identity and access management using Azure AD, SSO, OAuth/OpenID.
• Enable monitoring, logging, and observability frameworks.

Technical Leadership & Governance

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams.
• Ensure adherence to architectural standards and best practices.
• Define governance frameworks and reusable architecture patterns.

Lead and mentor engineering teams

DevOps & Integration

• Drive CI/CD and DevOps practices using Azure DevOps and GitHub.
• Design enterprise integration using APIs and messaging systems.
• Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, and security requirements.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Innovation

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to align solutions with objectives.
• Contribute to proposals, roadmaps, and technical strategy.
