Job summary

Syneos Health, a leading life sciences services organization, seeks an experienced data engineering professional in Hyderabad/Madhapur, India, to drive advanced data integration and governance initiatives. You will design and implement ETL/ELT solutions, leverage Azure Databricks and PySpark for scalable pipelines, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet regulatory requirements.

The role requires 5+ years in database development and MDM, strong SQL skills, and familiarity with Azure

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Database Development, Master Data Management (MDM), and Data Integration initiatives.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT solutions using Azure data integration technologies (Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Azure Databricks).
• Strong expertise in Azure Databricks and PySpark for scalable data pipelines.
• Proficient in SQL development with complex queries in Azure-based or other relational databases.
• Solid SDLC understanding, source code management, CI/CD and Azure DevOps/GitHub integration.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills in regulated environments.
• Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Job Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Database Development, Master Data Management (MDM), and Data Integration initiatives.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT solutions using Azure data integration technologies, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and Azure Databricks.
• Strong expertise in Azure Databricks and PySpark for developing scalable, high-performance data pipelines.
• Proficient in SQL development, with extensive experience writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex queries in Azure-based or other relational database platforms.
• Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) best practices, source code management, CI/CD processes, and Azure DevOps/GitHub integration.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Experience supporting multiple clients in regulated and compliance-driven environments.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across teams to implement and promote data management frameworks and governance standards.
• Proven ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and business stakeholders.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex data and system issues.
• Comfortable working within structured, process-driven, and governance-focused organizations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience supporting data management and analytics initiatives for Pharmaceutical or Life Sciences organizations.
• Hands-on experience with data-centric platforms and implementations, including CRM/SFA solutions and Business Intelligence tools.
• Experience working with Salesforce, Veeva CRM, or similar customer relationship management platforms.
• Prior experience with Veeva Network and Master Data Management solutions.
• Knowledge of Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences data ecosystems, including customer master, sales, and commercial data domains.
• Microsoft Azure Data Engineer certifications such as DP-203 and/or DP-700.
• Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate certification.
• Experience working in Agile environments using tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Exposure to Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI technologies, including experience designing, developing, and deploying AI-powered agents and automation solutions.
• Familiarity with modern data architectures, data governance practices, and cloud-native analytics platforms.
