Job summary

HID Global in Chennai seeks an experienced Solution Architect to define and drive cloud-native, AI-enabled enterprise solutions. You will shape secure, scalable designs, oversee architecture documents, and collaborate with global teams to deliver high-impact projects.

You will apply Java and Python expertise, lead cross-functional initiatives, and ensure observability, cost optimisation and robust security across platforms. This hybrid role links to HID's global engineering efforts.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in software engineering or solution development.
• Experience designing cloud-native, scalable, secure enterprise apps on AWS.
• Strong knowledge of Generative AI concepts (LLMs, RAG, embeddings, vector databases).
• Experience with microservices, APIs, event-driven architectures and SaaS.
• Proficiency in Java and Python; ability to guide engineering teams.
• Solid understanding of cloud security, IAM, data privacy, observability, cost optimisation.
• Ability to create architecture diagrams, design docs, evaluations and ADRs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Ensure solutions meet security, privacy, performance, availability and cost targets.
• Translate business needs into secure, scalable, maintainable solution designs.

• Evaluate cloud services and platforms, document decisions and trade-offs.

Roles & Responsibilities (Other Duties May Be Assigned)

• Define end-to-end architecture for cloud-native and AI-enabled enterprise applications.
• Produce and maintain solution architecture documents, component diagrams, data flows, integration designs, and architecture decision records.
• Ensure solutions meet security, privacy, performance, availability, observability, compliance, and cost requirements.
• Translate business requirements into secure, scalable, resilient, and maintainable solution designs.
• Design AI solutions using Large Language Models, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, semantic search, vector databases, and agentic workflows.
• Evaluate cloud services, AI models, platforms, frameworks, and integration approaches, documenting key decisions and trade-offs.
• Lead architecture reviews and provide technical direction to engineering, cloud, security, data, and product teams.
• Establish reusable architecture patterns, standards, guardrails, and best practices for cloud and responsible AI adoption

Technical Requirements:

• 12+ years of experience in software engineering or application delivery, including significant experience as a Solution Architect or Technical Architect.
• Strong experience designing secure, scalable, resilient, and highly available cloud-native applications, preferably on AWS.
• Good understanding of Generative AI concepts, including Large Language Models, RAG, embeddings, vector databases, semantic search, and AI agents.
• Experience defining solution architectures for microservices, APIs, event-driven systems, enterprise integrations, and SaaS applications.
• Good working knowledge of Java and Python, with the ability to review technical designs and guide engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, identity and access management, data privacy, observability, performance, and cost optimisation.
• Experience creating architecture diagrams, solution design documents, technology evaluations, and architecture decision records.
• Strong communication, stakeholder-management, and technical leadership skills, with the ability to explain complex solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.

Experience and/or Education Qualification:

• Undergraduate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field required, with graduate degree preferred
• 12+ years of overall experience in Application/Solution Development domain
• Experience building Cloud Native Applications
• Expert hands-on proficiency in Developing Applications using one or more technology stacks
• Strong hands-on understanding of scalability, security, high availability and operational requirements
• Experience with full product lifecycle
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
