Job summary

Siemens Technology and Services Private Limited in Pune/Bangalore is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to lead data modeling and warehousing initiatives. You will build scalable data models and shape data architecture, collaborating with cross-functional teams in an agile environment.

The role requires expert SQL, dbt proficiency, Snowflake experience, and cloud platform knowledge across AWS/GCP/Azure, with a data-first mindset and strong English communication. German is an added advantage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, Economics or related quantitative field.
• Extensive experience in data engineering and data warehousing with complex data models.
• Expert SQL skills and deep dbt proficiency.
• Experience with Snowflake and cloud data warehouses.
• Familiarity with data ingestion frameworks like SnapLogic or Confluent Cloud.
• Proficiency in Python and other general-purpose languages.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, Azure in agile environments.
• Excellent English; German a plus.

Responsibilities

• Consult data teams across Siemens to tackle complex data modeling and warehousing.

• Shape data architecture, including standards for models, metadata, and security.
• Drive DataOps practices with code reviews and knowledge sharing.

• Be a technical leader and mentor within an autonomous cross-functional agile team.

We are looking for Senior Analytics Engineer

You’ll break new ground by:

• Act as a key consultant and enabler for data teams across Siemens, helping them tackle complex data modeling and data warehousing challenges.
• Build outstanding, scalable data models by extracting and transforming data from various sources.
• Shape and implement the data architecture, including standards for data models, metadata, and security, ensuring adherence to the overall architectural vision.
• Drive best practices in a DataOps environment, participating in code reviews, retrospectives, and encouraging a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
• Implement effective and sophisticated database solutions in Snowflake to store, retrieve, and transform company data for analytical applications.
• Produce meaningful metrics and logs to debug, trace, and supervise data pipelines and models, ensuring high data quality and reliability.
• Be a valued technical leader, mentor, collaborator, and champion of best practices within an autonomous, cross-functional agile team.

You’re excited to build on your existing expertise, including:

• A bachelors’ degree in IT, Engineering, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
• Extensive experience in data engineering and data warehousing, with a consistent record of building and maintaining complex data models.
• Expert-level programming skills in SQL and deep proficiency with dbt.
• Strong experience working with cloud data warehouses, particularly Snowflake.
• Familiarity with modern data ingestion frameworks and tools such as SnapLogic or Confluent Cloud.
• Proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language, preferably Python.
• Proven experience with major Cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure) and working in agile software development environments.
• A problem-solving and data-first approach, with the ability to create real business value.
• Excellent command of English is required and German is an added advantage.
