Exemplar Luxury Group is seeking a Senior Analyst, Workday to serve as the SME for Workday Absence and Core HCM. You will oversee configuration, enhancement, and daily support, ensuring operational excellence for our global workforce.

Responsibilities include leading system readiness, process improvements, stakeholder management, and evaluating bi-annual feature releases. You will also mentor junior analysts and create analytics reports to drive data-informed decisions.

Responsibilities

• Translate regional legal requirements into system rules and usage caps.
• Build dynamic holiday calendars, PTO borrowing features, and manage transitions.
• Evaluate bi-annual Workday releases, present recommendations, and manage testing/deployment.
• Gather HR requirements and translate them into scalable Workday solutions.
• Create and maintain custom reports, calculated fields, and dashboards for analytics.
• Provide mentorship and training to junior analysts and end-users.

Role Summary:

The Senior Analyst, Workday will be responsible for serving as the subject matter expert (SME) for our core Workday modules, bridging the gap between human resources and technology. The role oversees the configuration, enhancement, and daily support for Workday Absence and Core HCM. The focus is on ensuring day-to-day operational excellence, optimizing systems, driving process efficiencies, and ensuring a seamless experience for our global workforce. The role expands to include leading system readiness, process improvement, stakeholder management, and evaluating bi-annual feature releases across HR teams.

Responsibilities:

• System Configuration & Optimization: Lead the functional design, configuration, and testing as the primary SME for the Workday Absence and Core HCM modules.
• Advanced Absence Management: Architect, configure, and maintain complex Time Off and Leave of Absence (LOA) plans, period schedules, accrual calculations, and balance limits across multiple worker types (corporate vs. retail store associates).
• Core HCM & Employee Lifecycle: Configure and support core HCM processes, including supervisory organizations, position management, staffing models, and complex employee lifecycle business processes (e.g., hire, transfer, terminate, job changes).
• Compliance & Localization: Translate regional and state-specific legal requirements into system rules managing precise usage caps, legacy PTO carryovers, and conditional logic.
• Advanced Absence Mechanics: Build and maintain dynamic holiday calendars, configure PTO borrowing features, and ensure accurate system behavior during complex worker transitions.
• Release Management: Evaluate bi-annual Workday feature releases for Absence and Core HCM, present strategic recommendations to stakeholders, and manage the testing and deployment of adopted features.
• Stakeholder Partnership: Gather business requirements from HR leaders, translating complex operational needs into scalable Workday solutions.
• Data Integrity & Reporting: Create and maintain custom reports, calculated fields, and dashboards to support business analytics and ensure data accuracy within the Absence and HCM modules.
• Mentorship: Provide guidance, technical support, and training to junior analysts and end-users.

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on functional experience within the Workday ecosystem
• Absence Configuration Expertise: Deep, verifiable configuration experience in Workday Absence, including building custom calculation engines for accruals and limits from scratch
• Core HCM Mastery: Deep configuration experience in Workday Core HCM, including the business process framework, condition rules, security grouping, and organizational setup
• State-Specific Compliance Knowledge: Demonstrated success in mapping complex, localized labor laws (e.g., CA, NY, multi-state nuances) to Workday Absence configurations
• Business Process Mastery: Deep understanding of HR business processes, including leave requests, coordination with short-term disability (STD), and the downstream impacts of worker transitions on time-off balances and core worker profiles
• Integration Troubleshooting: Familiarity with how Workday Absence and HCM interact with external timekeeping and scheduling systems to confidently identify and resolve inbound/outbound data discrepancies
• High proficiency in Workday report writing, calculating fields, and understanding broad business processes and security protocols
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications:

• Workday Pro Certification in Absence and/or HCM Core
• Experience operating in a global organization with multi-country HCM and absence configurations
• Exposure to Payroll and Advanced Compensation module is a plus
