Role Overview
The Infrastructure Platform Engineering (IPE) team, part of the Infrastructure and Cloud division, is responsible for engineering and operating LSEG’s core infrastructure services, including data centres, storage, private cloud, platforms, databases, and middleware. The mission is to modernise and transform the customer experience by deploying automation and Platform-as-Product services to enable efficient, scalable, and secure infrastructure products that support business operations and transformation.
As a Senior Business Analyst, you will drive strategic workforce planning and management and support the IPE transformation programme. You will build data-driven models and actionable insights to enable smarter decisions around workforce capacity, skills and planning, analyse current ways of working, identify opportunities for improvement, and support programme governance at all levels.
You will be part of the Strategic Transformation Programme team supporting IPE’s transformation objectives and the shift toward a Platform-as-Product operating model. You will work with transformation leads, product owners, engineering, finance and HR to ensure decisions are data-backed, aligned with priorities, and executed effectively.
What You Will Be Doing
- Design workforce data models to bring together forecast, actuals, cost model, and strategic baseline to support planning and decision-making across IPE.
- Deliver insights on workforce trends, hiring velocity, skills distribution, and location strategy to advise long-term workforce planning; support transitions requiring talent uplift or reskilling.
- Lead the workforce audit/change log governance to ensure traceability across workforce plans.
- Build and maintain dashboards and reporting (e.g., Power BI or Excel) for workforce and transformation programme governance; ensure clear, concise, data-driven reporting for senior decision-making.
- Partner with Transformation leads to define programme-wide objectives and a scorecard measuring progress, impact, and alignment to outcomes.
- Act as a key point of contact for team members, Product Manager, HR, Finance, TA and Transformation Programme team on workforce and programme data; translate requirements into actionable backlog items.
- Operate as part of agile squads or cross-functional delivery teams; participate in backlog prioritisation, sprint planning and retrospectives.
- Collaborate with workstream leads, Transformation leads, and engineering to analyse and improve delivery of change, including deep-dives into processes or workflows to identify inefficiencies and opportunities to automate or simplify.
- Design future-state processes, including end-to-end workflow, roles and governance structures across workstreams to enable effective implementation of the new operating model.
What You Will Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience as a technical business analyst, data analyst, or related field in transformation or large-scale programme delivery.
- Data modelling and visualisation: proficiency in Excel; experience with Power BI and SQL is a plus; ability to develop structured, repeatable data models and reports to support decision-making.
- Strong data literacy and familiarity with data principles and standard methodologies.
- Knowledge of Microsoft tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and planning/tracking tools such as Asana or Jira; familiarity with Visio or Lucidchart.
- Strong attention to detail while maintaining awareness of broader strategic context; ensure day-to-day analysis supports transformation goals.
- Proactive and curious mindset with confidence to challenge assumptions and contribute to improved ways of working.
- Communication and influencing: strong interpersonal, written and verbal skills; ability to explain data and insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong organizational skills, self-motivated, and capable of handling ambiguity and changing priorities.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills for effective change management and problem-solving.
