Job summary

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. India is seeking an experienced accountant to support the Gallagher Service Center with account reconciliations and testing. The role emphasizes accuracy, process knowledge, and collaborative problem-solving for global client support.

The successful candidate will perform reconciliations, contribute to monthly/quarterly reporting, and engage with stakeholders to resolve items promptly. Join a global team with local impact in Pune.

Qualifications

• Solid accounting knowledge and understanding of financial processes.
• Proficient in Excel and financial analysis techniques.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with initiative.
• Effective in a team and collaborative environment.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines.
• 4–8 years of reconciliations experience (Cash/Bank, Balance Sheet).
• Flexibility to adapt to new tools and processes.

Responsibilities

• Test account reconciliations including Cash & Bank, Prepaid, Accruals, AR/AP.
• Communicate testing queries to stakeholders clearly and timely.
• Support monthly and quarterly reporting based on testing results.
• Follow up on open items and ensure timely resolutions.
• Maintain high accuracy and compliance with policies.
• Adapt to Company Policies and Guidance Notes as required.
• Demonstrate sound knowledge of reconciliation processes.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements proactively.
• Cross-train on other processes as needed.

Responsibilities

• Testing Account Reconciliations including Cash & Bank, Prepaid, Accruals, Account Receivable, Accounts Payable, etc.
• Communicating testing queries to stakeholders.
• Perform monthly & quarterly reporting activities based on the testing performed.
• Following up of Open items & ensuring timely resolution, including timely communication with stakeholders
• Ensuring high accuracy in the process
• Being adaptive with Company Policies & Guidance Notes
• Sound knowledge of Reconciliation process
• Proactively identify process improvements
• Get Cross trained on other process as per requirement

Qualifications

• Good Accounting knowledge
• Intermediate Excel knowledge
• Good Attention to detail and accuracy
• Good Communication Skills – Verbal & Writing both.
• Proactive and able to work independently
• Ability to effectively work in team
• Flexible and able to prioritize tasks
• Dynamic & able to adapt to new tools & changes.
• 4 to 8 years Exp in Reconciliations like Cash/Bank, Balance Sheet etc
