Job summary

Accelon Consulting in Bengaluru is seeking an experienced Power BI specialist to design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports. You will support reporting automation, transforming Excel-based reporting into scalable BI solutions and collaborate with finance, FP&A, and business stakeholders to meet reporting needs.

The role requires handling data from multiple sources, building KPIs and insights, and performing data validation and quality checks.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of relevant experience.
• Hands-on in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Reporting, or FP&A.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft Power BI (Power Query, DAX), including dashboard development, data visualization, and advanced data modeling.
• Strong understanding of data visualization, dashboard design, data modeling, and reporting best practices.
• Experience with large and complex datasets.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with data reconciliation and validation.
• Good understanding of SQL for data extraction and transformation.
• Ability to communicate effectively with business stakeholders.
• Proactive, self-driven, capable of independent stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Support reporting automation and transform Excel-based reporting into scalable Power BI dashboards.
• Partner with business, finance, and FP&A stakeholders to translate reporting needs into scalable solutions.
• Collect, consolidate, and analyze data from multiple internal data sources.
• Develop KPIs, metrics, and visualizations to provide insights into business performance and trends.
• Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks.
• Identify opportunities to automate and streamline manual reporting processes.
• Enhance dashboards for usability, performance, and visualization.
• Conduct root-cause and trend analysis to help stakeholders understand business drivers.
• Support ad-hoc reporting and analytical requests.
• Create documentation for dashboards, data sources, business logic, and reporting processes.
• Work independently with stakeholders to manage priorities and deliver solutions within timelines.
• Works closely with India and US stakeholders.

Project Overview

• Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting solutions to enable faster, data-driven decisions and reduce manual reporting effort.
• Enhance FP&A reporting through automation and visualization, shifting from manual Excel reports to automated, scalable dashboards.
• Context: Support Finance, FP&A, and business performance reporting.

Role & Responsibilities

Requirements

Must-Haves:

• 7-10 years of relevant experience.
• Hands-on in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Reporting, or FP&A.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft Power BI (Power Query, DAX) , including dashboard development, data visualization, and advanced data modeling.
• Strong understanding of data visualization, dashboard design, data modeling, and reporting best practices.
• Experience working with large and complex datasets.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with data reconciliation and validation.
• Good understanding of SQL for data extraction and transformation.
• Candidates should have strong communication and requirement-gathering skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with business stakeholders.
• Proactive, self-driven, capable of independent stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Candidates working as leads/managers will not be considered.

Preferred:

• Experience with Snowflake, Sigma Computing, and automation of recurring reports.
• Experience supporting Finance, FP&A, or business performance reporting.
• Forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis reporting exposure.
• Prioritize candidates with finance or FP&A domain exposure.
