Job summary

Arcesium in India (Gurugram) seeks a fund accounting professional with 2–4 years’ experience to support post-trade activities for hedge funds, including daily reconciliations, P/L and NAV processes, and governance with prime brokers.

You’ll coordinate with investment managers, auditors, and technology teams, using MS Excel and finance knowledge to improve processes, manage high performers, and ensure timely month-end close.

Qualifications

• MBA (Finance) or equivalent qualification.

Team Summary

The group handles post-trade activities for hedge funds, with one of its core daily objectives being to ensure post-trade activities happen in a timely manner and record an accurate view of positions, cash, and P&L in the books. The group works closely with counterparties, fund administrators, and investment managers to achieve this. Primary activities include daily street reconciliations, settlements, P/L reconciliations, admin reconciliations, fund accounting (GAV/NAV preparation), investor accounting (including fee calculations), and regulatory reporting. The group deals with a variety of strategies and different kinds of financial instruments, spanning multiple geographies and time zones.

What Youll Do

• Take accountability for the work product of the team — daily trade, position, Swap MTM, and cash reconciliations to the prime broker/custodians/administrators, as well as all income/expense accruals. In addition, oversee timely reconciliations and settlements of OTC products.
• Play an active oversight role in day-to-day operations, escalation of aged breaks, and business-as-usual troubleshooting, while setting direction and goals for individuals.
• Coordinate with investment managers, prime brokers, and administrators to resolve day-to-day exceptions, as well as develop more strategic initiatives.
• Liaise with other internal functions such as pricing, middle office, and collateral management to resolve discrepancies and respond to internal queries.
• Assist the team and play a review role for the accounting close (monthly/bi-weekly), providing adequate support for outstanding breaks and preparing the month-end binder.
• Work with the team in NY and locally to define strategy and new projects, including prioritization.
• Provide assistance to auditors and fund administrators during the audit and NAV finalization process.
• Work with technology teams as needed by assisting in special projects, developing bespoke reports, developing specifications, product implementation, and UAT.

What Youll Need

• An MBA (Finance), CFA, CA, or an equivalent qualification
• 2–4 years of work experience in fund accounting
• In-depth domain/finance knowledge, attention to detail, the ability to work with minimal supervision, and experience managing high performers
• Drive to enhance the efficiency of processes
• Strong project management skills and effective managerial ability
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Proficiency in MS Excel
