Job summary

Macquarie Bank Limited seeks a data-focused professional to support data and reporting initiatives across the Data team. You will translate requirements into data-driven solutions across the data lifecycle and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver trusted insights.

The role offers exposure to enterprise data platforms, AI-enabled capabilities, and strategic data initiatives, with emphasis on governance, quality, analytics and reporting. Hybrid work is available.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, computer science, mathematics, statistics, economics, technology, engineering, or related field.
  • 2–4 years' experience in Business Analysis, Data Analysis, Data Management, Reporting, Financial Technology, or related role within Financial Services.
  • Working knowledge of finance and data management concepts, financial reporting, enterprise data management, data sourcing, transformation, governance, reporting and analytics.
  • Strong SQL skills with experience analyzing, validating and reconciling datasets; experience with Power BI and exposure to Python is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Generative AI and Microsoft Copilot; knowledge of Collibra, Jira or Confluence; MBA/CA/CFA/FRM desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Translate requirements into data-driven solutions across the data lifecycle, including governance, quality, analytics and reporting.
  • Work with business stakeholders, technology teams and data producers to deliver trusted insights and drive outcomes.
  • Contribute to solution design, testing and implementation of data initiatives.
  • Gain exposure to enterprise data platforms, AI-enabled capabilities and strategic data initiatives.

What role will you play?

In this role, you will support data and reporting initiatives that deliver trusted insights and drive business outcomes across Macquarie. Working closely with business stakeholders, technology teams and data producers, you will translate requirements into data-driven solutions across the data lifecycle, including governance, quality, analytics and reporting. You will also gain exposure to enterprise data platforms, AI-enabled capabilities and strategic data initiatives while contributing to solution design, testing and implementation.

What you offer
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, computer science, mathematics, statistics, economics, technology, engineering, or other related field; MBA (Finance), CA, CFA qualification is also advantageous.
  • 2-4 years' experience in Business Analysis, Data Analysis, Data Management, Reporting, Financial Technology, or a related role within Financial Services, with a proactive mindset, curiosity and commitment to continuous learning.
  • Working knowledge of finance and data management concepts, financial reporting, enterprise data management, data sourcing, transformation, governance, reporting and analytics.
  • Experience eliciting business requirements, documenting processes and supporting solution delivery, complemented by strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong SQL skills with experience analyzing, validating and reconciling datasets; experience with Power BI (or similar visualization tools) and exposure to Python or other analytical tools is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with modern data and collaboration tools, including Generative AI and Microsoft Copilot, with experience using AI to enhance analysis, documentation and reporting; knowledge of Collibra, Jira or Confluence, and a relevant degree or professional qualification (e.g., MBA, CA, CFA, FRM) is desirable.
