Job summary

Northern Trust in Pune is hiring for a Cash Operations professional to handle electronic funds movements, wires, and cheque processing in line with standard procedures.

The role supports global accounts, participates in Cash Ops projects, and mentors junior staff while delivering accurate, audit-ready outputs. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential in a fast-paced, globally connected team.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate electronic movements of funds, wires, and cheque issues per client instructions.
  • Assist in audit document preparation for global accounts and identify discrepancies.
  • Participate in projects within the Cash Ops larger team.
  • Serve as SME and mentor to junior staff.
  • Deliver work products with minimal revisions.
  • Facilitate discussions and help reach decisions.

Major Duties
  • Responsible for facilitating electronic movements of funds, wires transfers and cheque issues along with trade postings on behalf of the client within defined procedures.
  • Works and assists in audit document preparation pertaining to global accounts and identifies discrepancies vs. standard instructions.
  • Participation in groups that work on projects for the Cash Ops larger team.
  • Carries out complex activities with significant financial, client, and/or internal business impact.
  • Able to serve as a key subject matter expert and mentor to other more junior level employees.
  • More technically sound in area of expertise and has broader knowledge of other areas.
  • Delivers a work product that requires less revision.
  • Able to facilitate discussions and reach decisions.
Knowledge
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills are required.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is required.
  • Knowledge on financial instruments and basic terminology related to custody services is preferred.
Experience
  • A College or University degree and/or some relevant work experience is preferred.
  • Related Industry qualification / or studying towards, is preferred
