The Global Telecom Expense Management & Forecasting Lead is responsible for managing worldwide telecommunications spending across mobility, fixed network, voice, data, and collaboration services. This role drives financial governance, budgeting, forecasting, cost optimization, vendor management, and detailed spend analytics to ensure efficient utilization of telecom resources and alignment with business objectives. The position partners closely with IT, Finance, Procurement, Telecom Service Providers, and Business Units to deliver accurate forecasts, identify savings opportunities, improve expense transparency, and support strategic telecom initiatives globally.
Telecom Expense Management (TEM) Manage end-to-end telecom expense lifecycle across global operations. Validate and approve telecom invoices for mobility, network, voice, and data services. Monitor telecom spending against budgets and business plans. Ensure billing accuracy through invoice auditing and dispute management. Coordinate with telecom vendors to resolve billing and service issues. Maintain telecom inventory and asset repository for cost allocation and reporting. Ensure compliance with corporate financial controls and telecom policies.
Budgeting & Forecasting Develop annual telecom operating expense budgets for all regions. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual telecom forecasts. Analyze historical spending trends and business demand drivers. Produce forecast variance analysis and identify financial risks. Support financial planning processes with scenario modeling and what-if analysis. Deliver accurate accruals and month-end financial reporting.
Mobility Management Manage global mobility services including mobile devices, voice plans, data plans, and roaming services. Monitor wireless usage patterns and optimize carrier plans. Drive cost reduction initiatives through device lifecycle management and contract optimization. Develop mobility governance policies and ensure compliance. Analyze user consumption trends and recommend optimization opportunities.
Network Expense Management Manage expenses related to: WAN and SD-WAN services MPLS circuits Internet connectivity Data centers Cloud networking Voice and conferencing services Track network utilization versus cost metrics. Support network transformation and consolidation initiatives. Evaluate vendor performance and service level adherence.
Detailed Spend Analysis & Reporting Perform detailed spend analysis across telecom categories, geographies, vendors, and business units. Develop dashboards and executive reports highlighting: Monthly spend trends Budget vs Actual performance Forecast accuracy Cost-per-user metrics Carrier spend distribution Savings realization Utilization trends Identify anomalies, leakage, duplicate billing, and optimization opportunities. Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
Vendor & Contract Management Manage relationships with global telecom carriers and service providers. Support contract negotiations and renewals. Track contract commitments, pricing, and service levels. Benchmark telecom costs against industry standards. Drive vendor consolidation and sourcing initiatives.
Cost Optimization & Continuous Improvement Identify and implement telecom cost reduction opportunities. Lead telecom expense optimization projects. Support automation and digitization initiatives within TEM processes. Track savings pipeline and validate financial benefits.
Required Qualifications MBA, Finance. Experience with SD-WAN, WAN, Mobility Management, and Telecom Asset Management 10+ years of experience in Telecom Expense Management, Financial Planning, Procurement, or Telecom Operations. Strong understanding of global telecom services, mobility, and network technologies. Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Knowledge of telecom billing structures and carrier contracts. Experience working with TEM platforms and reporting tools.
