Job summary

Palo Alto Networks is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to architect, build, and deploy agentic AI applications that integrate with Salesforce. Qualifications

• 3+ years backend software engineering experience building scalable microservices.
• 2+ years hands-on experience developing production AI agents, autonomous decision loops, and multi-agent coordination.
• Salesforce APIs (REST/Composite/Bulk), SOQL/SOSL queries, and Apex Invocable Actions.
• Proficiency in Python or TypeScript/Node.js for AI backend systems.
• Experience with vector databases and embeddings (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, PGVector).
• Cloud/DevOps: AWS/GCP/Azure, Docker/Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of B2B Sales processes and CRM lifecycle.

Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with 4+ years of software engineering experience to architect, build, and deploy custom Agentic AI applications integrated with our Salesforce ecosystem. In this role, you will bridge modern generative AI technologies (LLM orchestrations, autonomous agent loops, tool calling, and RAG) with enterprise CRM infrastructure. You will design autonomous and semi-autonomous AI agents that execute complex, multi‑step business workflows, interact directly with Salesforce data and APIs, and safely elevate to human teams when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

• Agentic Application Architecture: Design, build, and maintain agentic solutions using tools like LangGraph, ADK, LangChain, AutoGen, CrewAI etc.
• Salesforce Integration & Tool Calling: Implement robust REST/SOAP integrations, Webhooks, Platform Events, and Apex Invocable Methods allowing AI agents to query SOQL, update CRM records, and trigger Salesforce Flows autonomously.
• Context Grounding & RAG Pipelines: Build Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines connecting vector stores (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector) to supply real‑time context to LLMs while mitigating hallucinations.
• Workflow Automation & Agent Governance: Define function calling schemas, tool definitions, dynamic planning loops, and fallbacks. Implement safety guardrails, prompt evaluation suites, rate limiting, and seamless human‑in‑the‑loop (HITL) handoffs.
• Observability & Reliability: Set up agent monitoring, evaluation metrics, and tracing to track execution paths, latency, context usage, and token costs.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with Salesforce Architects, Product Managers, and security teams to translate complex CRM requirements into reliable AI features adhering to enterprise compliance and data governance standards.

Qualifications

Required Technical Skills & Qualifications

• Software Engineering Foundation: 3+ years of professional backend software engineering experience building scalable microservices, REST APIs, and asynchronous message queues.
• Agentic AI & LLM Systems: 2+ years of hands‑on experience developing production AI agents, autonomous decision loops, multi‑agent coordination, and function‑calling/tool‑use paradigms.
• Salesforce Core Knowledge: Proven experience interacting with Salesforce APIs (REST/Composite/Bulk), SOQL/SOSL queries, Connected Apps, OAuth flows, and Apex (Invocable Actions, Triggers).
• Programming Languages: Advanced proficiency in Python or TypeScript/Node.js for AI backend systems.
• Vector Databases & Embeddings: Direct experience with semantic search, embeddings generation, and vector engines (e.g., Pinecone, Qdrant, ChromaDB, PGVector).
• Cloud & DevOps: Proficiency in cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), serverless computing, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Domain Knowledge: Solid understanding of B2B Sales processes, Partner Relationship Management (PRM), and the end‑to‑Quote (Q2C) lifecycle.
