Job summary

Optum in Bengaluru is seeking an experienced AI Engineer to design, develop, and deploy enterprise-scale AI/ML and Generative AI solutions, focusing on business value and operational efficiency.

You will work with OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, and other platforms, building scalable AI platforms on Azure, implementing MLOps, and mentoring engineers. Join a diverse team driving responsible AI practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Proven experience designing and deploying AI/ML, Gen AI, and LLM solutions.
• Experience with OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, Gemini, or similar platforms.
• Proficiency in Python and modern AI frameworks (LangChain, Semantic Kernel, PydanticAI, CrewAI, AutoGen).
• Strong understanding of Prompt Engineering, RAG, Vector Databases, and AI Agent development.
• Knowledge of API development, microservices, data engineering, and scalable distributed systems.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills with a passion for learning.

Responsibilities

• Build and integrate AI-powered applications leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI Agents, and modern AI frameworks

• Develop robust APIs, automation frameworks, and reusable AI services that accelerate adoption across multiple teams
• Establish AI engineering standards for model evaluation, prompt engineering, governance, observability, and responsible AI practices
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and deliver high-impact AI use cases
• Mentor engineers and champion AI innovation, automation, and continuous improvement throughout the organization

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science or similar field
• Solid experience developing and deploying AI/ML, Generative AI, and Large Language Model solutions
• Experience with OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, Gemini, or comparable AI platforms
• Experience with Azure Public Cloud, MLOps, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud-native architectures
• Proficiency in Python and modern AI frameworks such as LangChain, Semantic Kernel, PydanticAI, CrewAI, AutoGen, or similar technologies
• Solid understanding of Prompt Engineering, RAG, Vector Databases, Semantic Search, and AI Agent development
• Knowledge of API development, microservices, data engineering, and scalable distributed systems.
• Solid analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills with a passion for AI innovation and continuous learning
