The Senior AEM Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) solutions and related platform integrations across the full project lifecycle. This role will also work with a team of developers under the guidance of a technical lead to deliver the requirements. Additionally, the role will support the existing implementation via enhancements and bug fixes.
In addition to strong technical knowledge of the AEM and integrated platform, this position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain trusted relationships with various business stakeholders and partners. Work will be managed with supervision of the lead and is encouraged to take initiative on ideas and best practices.
Role / Responsibilities
- Design & define technical approaches to achieve business requirements, review with technical leader board, document and develop the solution along with the team.
- Ensure the delivery and success of AEM enterprise-level integration and development involving upstream and downstream systems.
- Participate in gathering of technical and functional requirements from business teams during the discovery phase and translate them into an AEM solution and document it.
- Create development approach along with the team and present it for approval with technical leader board along with effort estimation.
- Be hands‑on with AEM features and functionality to develop custom solutions, including back‑end integration, and be ready to develop along with the development team.
- Be creative and think about out‑of‑the‑box solutions to bring best practices in development approaches.
- Suggest alternative technical solutions to meet business requirements more efficiently and/or with greater reusability and/or a long‑term solution.
- Perform reviews and provide inputs/directions to the development team during design and development phase.
- Have experience and exposure in agile methodologies.
- Have excellent communication skills and customer‑relationship building skills.
Technical Skills
- Strong hands‑on experience with AEM Components, editable Templates, Client Libraries, Taxonomy, metadata management, Forward and Reverse Replication, Workflows, Content Publishing, Tagging, Campaigns, Analytics and Targeting.
- Experienced with third‑party integrations such as Search Integrations, Authentication Handlers, Web Services Integrations, etc.
- Hands‑on experience in dispatcher configuration mainly with sling mapping, vhost and URL rewrite.
- Experience working with E‑Commerce platforms is highly desirable (e.g., Magento, SalesForce Commerce Cloud).
- Good understanding of integration patterns and content‑centric application development patterns using AEM, Search, Commerce package or other platforms.
- Good understanding of AEM capabilities including Multi‑site manager and Blueprinting, and the use of online marketing components such as advanced targeting/personalization, and multi‑variate testing.
- Have configured and designed AEM multi‑tenant solutions and delivered them.
- Designed and implemented tagging and data layers for complex analytics scenarios, content targeting and personalization scenarios.
- Experience in performing product and technology research and analysis to formulate solutions to business‑specific requirements.
- Experience in implementing, enhancing, and troubleshooting AEM installations and administration issues.
- Conducted code reviews for ongoing projects to ensure optimal code quality and appropriate design patterns are used.
- Having one or more of the following certifications is a plus: AEM Developer, Adobe AEM Advanced developer.
Experience
- Overall 6+ years of experience in delivering enterprise solutions.
- Minimum 4+ years of experience developing with AEM Touch UI (version 6.4 and higher; AEM as a Cloud Service is preferred).

- Experience with e‑Commerce platform Magento (Adobe Commerce) is a plus.
- Experience with integrating Salesforce is a plus.

- Experience utilizing BitBucket, GitHub, Jira and Confluence.
- Experience with cloud hosting platforms.
- Experience on customizing GDPR presentation.
