Job description

Job description:

We are looking for a Senior Accountant for India & Singapore who is responsible for securing the integrity of financial reporting and local statutory compliance across both entities, with a global remit covering intercompany accounting and support to the group’s transfer pricing and tax assessment work.

Objective of the role:
Accounting, close and reporting
  • Day-to-day accounting, general ledger management
  • and balance sheet reconciliations for both entities. This is a hands-on role: journals, accruals, fixed asset and payroll entries, invoice processing and reconciliations are posted directly in the ERP.
  • Month-end, quarter-end and year-end close for India and Singapore, and submission of reporting packages to Group Finance in accordance with IFRS and internal guidelines.
Global intercompany accounting and transfer pricing
  • Own the global intercompany cycle: monthly intercompany working files and internal billing file with intercompany sales and purchase invoices, and reconciling and settling balances with the entity owners.
  • Monthly currency revaluation across all group entities.
  • Support the group’s transfer pricing cycle – collating data for the group transfer pricing report, master file and local files, coordinating with external advisors on India-specific requirements, and making sure the agreed intercompany pricing is applied.
Payroll, payments, cash and banking
  • Together with the local People & Culture representative, act as the coordination point for outsourced payroll, authorising the payroll bank file and posting the payroll journals.
  • Act as the escalation point when vendor output needs correction or follow-up.
  • Weekly and monthly cash-flow forecasting and liquidity management, local banking relationships, and early flagging of funding requirements.
Tax, audit and corporate governance
  • Compliance with local tax laws and statutory filings: India (GST, corporate income tax, TDS and withholding tax on cross-border payments including Section 195, Forms 15CA/15CB and DTAA relief, tax audit and Form 3CEB) and Singapore (GST Form 5, corporate tax and IRAS/ACRA filings).
  • Internal coordination point for income tax and transfer pricing assessments across the group’s entities – currently India, Singapore, Sweden and Hong Kong.
  • Lead the local annual audits and act as key contact for auditors – the India statutory audit and tax audit, and the Singapore statutory audit and XBRL filing.
  • Primary corporate governance contact for both locations: ROC/MCA and ACRA filings, board and director documentation, corporate secretarial matters, and FEMA/RBI and export-related compliance for the Indian entity.
Outsourced partners and ways of working
  • Manage, monitor and review the deliverables of third-party accounting and payroll firms, and act as the escalation point when their output needs correction or follow-up.
  • Support transitions between service providers and the rollout of global finance systems, such as the global payroll platform implementation for India and Singapore.
About the team:

Global Finance team of 13, spread across North America, Europe, and APAC.

What you will do:

The role combines hands-on financial management with oversight of outsourced accounting, tax and payroll partners, working closely with the global Finance team – in particular colleagues in India, Hong Kong, Sweden and Canada.

  • Around 5-7 years of experience in tax and accounting, the majority of it gained in an audit, tax or accounting firm handling global clients – a Big 4 or other large accounting firm is preferred.
  • Direct exposure to Indian direct tax, transfer pricing and statutory compliance, gained on cross-border or multinational clients.
  • Experience supporting income tax and transfer pricing assessments in India – collating information, preparing data and reconciliations for submissions, and working alongside external advisors – including matters involving transfer pricing and non-resident / international tax.
  • Familiarity with transfer pricing documentation in practice (local file, master file, Form 3CEB, benchmarking studies) and withholding tax on cross-border payments (Section 195, DTAA relief, Forms 15CA/15CB).
  • Good working knowledge of Indian accounting, tax and statutory reporting requirements, and either exposure to Singapore requirements (GST, CPF, IRAS/ACRA filings) or a demonstrated ability to pick up a second jurisdiction quickly.
  • Experience in a global, multi-entity organisation, with strong intercompany accounting and reconciliation experience and comfort coordinating across time zones and cultures.
  • Quick to pick up new technology, and has actively tried AI tools in day-to-day work – we are interested in what you have used them for and what you learned.
  • A real interest in improving how work gets done: spotting the manual and repetitive steps in a process and rethinking them.
  • Comfortable with hands-on transactional work alongside compliance and reporting responsibilities, and self-starting without close daily supervision.
  • Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Academic degree in Business Administration, Finance, or equivalent.
  • Experience with an international ERP; Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is a distinct advantage.
  • Involvement in finance automation or process improvement work – reporting automation, workflow tools, ERP process changes, or similar.
