Job summary

Institute of Management Accountants, Inc. in Surat, Gujarat, invites an experienced Senior Accountant to independently manage core accounting, taxation, statutory compliance, payroll, reconciliations, and financial reporting, with ownership of day-to-day finance operations and supervision of two Data Entry Operators.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of relevant accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, payroll, and accounts finalization
  • Experience preparing financial schedules and CA-ready documentation
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting/ERP software
  • Ability to coordinate with CA, auditors, and tax consultants

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting activities including ledgers, journal entries, reconciliations, and records
  • Supervise two Data Entry Operators to ensure timely, accurate tasks
  • Handle GST and TDS calculations, workings, documentation, and compliance
  • Prepare and review Bank Reconciliation Statements and investigate discrepancies
  • Prepare monthly payroll and related statutory deductions
  • Support accounts finalization with schedules and supporting docs
  • Provide financial reports and reconciliations for CA review
  • Coordinate with CA, auditors, tax consultants, and other professionals
  • Maintain proper documentation and ensure timely statutory activities
  • Identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions

Job Type: Full-time

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to independently manage core accounting, taxation, statutory compliance, payroll, reconciliations, and financial reporting activities. The role offers significant ownership of day-to-day finance operations while also supervising two Data Entry Operators responsible for routine accounting and data-entry activities.

The ideal candidate should have strong practical knowledge of GST, TDS, BRS, payroll, accounts finalization, and financial reporting, along with the ability to coordinate effectively with Chartered Accountants, auditors, and other external stakeholders.

Requirements
  • Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including ledger scrutiny, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial record maintenance.
  • Supervise and review the work of two Data Entry Operators to ensure accuracy and timely completion of routine accounting tasks.
  • Handle GST and TDS calculations, workings, documentation, and compliance activities.
  • Prepare and review Bank Reconciliation Statements (BRS) and investigate discrepancies.
  • Prepare monthly payroll and salary sheets, including applicable PF, ESI, and statutory deductions.
  • Support and independently manage accounts finalization, including preparation of schedules and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare accurate financial data and reports for review and finalization by the CA.
  • Coordinate with the CA, auditors, tax consultants, and other professionals on accounting and compliance matters.
  • Maintain proper documentation and ensure accounting and statutory activities are completed within defined timelines.
  • Provide management with financial reports, accounting information, reconciliations, and relevant analysis.
  • Identify discrepancies or process gaps and take corrective action to maintain financial accuracy.
What's Makes You a Great Fit
  • 3+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within a trading or similar business environment.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of GST, TDS, BRS, payroll, and accounts finalization.
  • Experience preparing financial schedules and supporting documents for CA-led finalization.
  • Ability to independently manage senior-level accounting responsibilities while supervising junior team members.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting/ERP software.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and ownership.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities with a structured approach to reconciliations and financial records.
  • Comfortable coordinating with CAs, auditors, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
  • Candidates who can comfortably commute to Saroli, Surat will be preferred.
  • Immediate joiners or candidates with a 10-15 day notice period will be preferred.
