Job summary

Job Description Senior Accountant

Position: Senior Accountant

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting activities, financial reporting, reconciliations, taxation, and statutory compliance. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of accounting principles, Tally Prime, GST, TDS, and MS Excel, along with the ability to independently manage accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting and financial transactions.
• Review and approve purchase, sales, receipt, payment, E way bills and journal entries.
• Maintain accurate general ledger and subsidiary ledgers.
• Handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Perform bank, cash, customer, vendor, and ledger reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Prepare and review GST returns, TDS calculations, and statutory compliance.
• Ensure timely filing of GST, TDS, and other applicable statutory returns.
• Monitor outstanding receivables and payables and coordinate for timely collections and payments.
• Verify invoices, expenses, vouchers, and supporting documents.
• Must be familiar with Cost Accounting knowing profit margin before and after taxation, profit margin calculation. EBTA & EBITA, GAAP standards.
• Prepare MIS reports and provide financial information to management.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Coordinate with auditors, consultants, banks, vendors, and customers.
• Support internal and statutory audits and provide required documentation.
• Identify accounting discrepancies and ensure timely corrective action.
• Maintain proper documentation and records as per company policies.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls.
• Guide and supervise junior accounting staff when required.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of financial information.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Excellent working knowledge of Tally Prime.
• Good knowledge of GST, TDS, and other applicable taxation requirements.
• Strong MS Excel skills, including formulas, Pivot Tables, and data analysis.
• Experience in bank and ledger reconciliation.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
• Leadership and team-management skills.

Qualification & Experience

• B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter / equivalent qualification preferred.
• 3–7 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance.
• Experience handling complete accounting operations independently is preferred.
• Experience with ERP/accounting software will be an advantage.

Salary & Benefits
