Job summary

Symplr is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the Accounting and Finance team in a remote-first setup. The role emphasizes end-to-end bookkeeping, month-close, GST/TDS compliance, and intercompany processes with a strong focus on accuracy and timelines.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years of corporate GL experience, CA/CMA/CA Inter qualifications, and proficiency in Tally, NetSuite, and SAP Concur, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Bangalore office access available.

Qualifications

• CA/CMA/CA Inter qualification required or equivalent.
• 6+ years of progressive experience in corporate GL accounting.
• Strong knowledge of GST and TDS compliance.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end bookkeeping including GL, AP, and bank reconciliations.
• Maintain Fixed Asset Register with depreciation and reconciliation.
• Drive month close with journals, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Review employee expenses per policy and support audits.
• Prepare monthly MIS and variance analysis.
• Collaborate with internal/external teams and drive process improvements.
• Support intercompany billing and cash forecasting.
• GST reconciliations and compliance, including TDS filings.

Overview

We’re seeking Accountant to join the Accounting and Finance team at symplr. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional with a strong financial accounting background. This is a highly visible role within the organization that will require collaboration across multiple departments and external resources.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end bookkeeping – including GL, AP, EE processing, bank reconciliations and ensuring accuracy and timeliness across all entries.
• Maintain the Fixed Asset Register (FAR), including capitalization, depreciation and reconciliation
• Drive the month close process – prepare/review journals, accruals, prepaid and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Review & process employee expense claims in line with Company policy
• Support internal and external audits by providing schedules, documentation, and required explanations.
• Prepare monthly MIS Report & variance analysis
• Responsible for Cash forecast and Intercompany Billing
• Perform other accounting and finance-related responsibilities as assigned
• Perform GST reconciliations and GST related compliance
• Proficient with TDS provisions, TDS Payments, filing of quarterly & annual returns, issue form16a to vendors
• Proactively identify opportunities for process automation and improvement to ensure processes are scalable and optimized

Skills Required

Qualifications and Experience

• 6+ years of progressive experience in corporate GL accounting

• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft excel and financial reporting tools

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
