Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (CPA, ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Strong experience in statutory accounting, financial reporting, general ledger accounting, technical accounting, external audit or a related finance function.
• Good knowledge of IFRS, local GAAP or other recognised accounting frameworks.
• Experience preparing, reviewing or supporting statutory financial statements and disclosures.

Responsibilities

• Support CAPEX, fixed assets and capital projects accounting.
• Prepare reconciliations and supporting schedules in accordance with applicable standards.
• Support the preparation of statutory financial statements and disclosures, ensuring compliance with local GAAP, IFRS and other relevant frameworks.
• Analyse financial data, investigate variances and identify root causes of accounting and reporting discrepancies.
• Partner with operational teams, project managers, procurement and other stakeholders to ensure data accuracy.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and technical accounting support.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives that strengthen controls and reporting quality.
• Assist in the implementation and application of accounting policies including exposure to US GAAP reporting requirements.
• Stay informed of developments in accounting standards and statutory reporting across jurisdictions.
• Support and collaborate with team members across finance functions to promote best practices.

Job Summary

We are seeking a strong and experienced statutory accountant with a solid background in financial reporting, IFRS, local GAAP, external audit or technical accounting. The successful candidate will bring a strong accounting foundation, sound judgement and the ability to apply accounting principles across multiple legal entities and jurisdictions. Previous experience in CAPEX accounting, fixed assets or project accounting is advantageous, but it is not essential. CAPEX accounting can be learned. More important is an analytical mindset, attention to detail and a natural curiosity to investigate issues, challenge unusual results and understand the drivers behind financial outcomes. CAPEX and fixed asset accounting will become the successful candidate’s area of specialisation. The role will support the accounting, reporting and statutory compliance of capital expenditure, fixed assets and capital projects within a multinational environment that reports under US GAAP while also meeting local statutory reporting and financial statement filing requirements. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop specialised CAPEX expertise while applying and expanding strong statutory accounting and financial reporting skills within a dynamic global finance organisation.

• Support the preparation of statutory financial statements and disclosures, ensuring compliance with local GAAP, IFRS and other relevant accounting frameworks

• Partner with operational teams, project managers, procurement and other stakeholders to ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial information
• Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation, reconciliations and technical accounting support
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives that strengthen controls, reporting quality and operational efficiency
• Assist in the implementation and application of accounting policies within a multinational reporting environment, including exposure to US GAAP reporting requirements

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (CPA, ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Strong experience in statutory accounting, financial reporting, general ledger accounting, technical accounting, external audit or a related finance function
• Good knowledge of IFRS, local GAAP or other recognised accounting frameworks
• Experience preparing, reviewing or supporting statutory financial statements and disclosures
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a demonstrated ability to investigate and resolve accounting issues
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
• Ability to identify unusual trends, balances and variances and perform detailed analysis to determine underlying causes
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced international environment
• Experience with fixed asset accounting, CAPEX accounting, project accounting or asset management processes
• Exposure to US GAAP reporting requirements
• Experience working within a multinational organisation, shared services environment or global finance function
• Experience supporting multiple legal entities and jurisdictions
• Knowledge of Oracle or other enterprise financial systems
